This isn't the first time we've been to Jolly's. The menu needs updating. The photo of my grilled calamari in the menu clearly does 2 full pieces with slits cut into them. Mine was one cut lengthwise to seem like there were 2. The lemon sauce in the grilled calamari was delicious. I also had the cod, which was tasty. My partner, who ordered the rest of the food, was not impressed with his choices.
Came here for supper, we ordered the bruschetta and calamari both AMAZING. For mains, the pesto gnocchi, chicken Alfredo, and Carbonara. The mains were pretty good, and the portions were quite a good size.
Hidden vintage Italian joint located in the heart of the Weston road & 401 shopping plaza. They serve home made Italian classics at a fairly reasonable price. Did not even know this place existed until my wife and came across it, as we decided to go for a drive in the area to look for a place to eat. The place looks old and run down, but had plenty of local customers when we visited on a Friday evening. It was busy, but not too crazy that we we're accomodated quite promptly and comfortably. They have a patio area where we asked to be seated, and got to enjoy quite a bit of the sun just before it set. Our server was very friendly and respecftul. We really enjoyed being served by him with his promptness and mindfulness, as he constantly checked up on each guest without being too overbearing. Even commending him for serving a handful of tables by himself. Atmosphere: 3/5 ; Service: 5/5 They have a good selection of classic Italian dishes, from appetizers, pastas & pizzas, and heavier main plates. We ordered some staple choices for appetizers: Bruschetta & Grilled Squid. The bread they used is very delicious, however we hoped that they used some sort of balsamic glaze on top of tomatoes and cheese. It just felt like it was missing something. Grilled squid was cooked perfectly, however, I wish they could've done more with the seasoning. The squid was basically just sitting on top of melted butter & lemon juice. For the main course, I ordered the braised lamb with sessonal veggies and potatoes. Veggies and potatoes we're amazing, the lamb had great flavour but had barely any meat. It was very tender and seasoned well, but I hoped that it was way meatier. Food: 3/5 Parking: Establishment is located in a smart centre plaza, do there is tons of parking.
I'm always when I know I'll be dining here because I can never just walk this place without getting a their action -[ ] $ White pizza with extra virgin olive oil, gorgonzola, fried mushrooms, fried onions, and mozzarella This may not sound like much but my goodness, it is such a flavorful pizza! The frying of the mushrooms and onions give it that extra dimension of flavor -[ ] $ Homemade potato dumplings with blue cheese sauce that is absolutely delicious! This is essentially an Italian version of a dumpling Is also offered in pesto sauce -[ ] $ white pizza with extra virgin olive oil, mozzarella, ricotta, sliced tomato, and spinach A very healthy tasting pizza thanks to the ingredients on it Could benefit in flavor from a stronger cheese but still tasty as well I don't know if you can tell but their gorgonzola is They also make a delicious tiramisu and latte as well Not to mention, everyone that serves you is friendly and informative if you have questions about their food/menu Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options on their menu! The staff are always happy to clarify for you with the kitchen if something does or doesn't have meat if they are unsure too
This place is a hidden gem the staff and the owner are inviting and professional they make you feel like your at home. food is amazing. David was our server made us feel special he is top notch and even prepared a special cocktail for my wife wich she loved. Would definitely recomend. Oh and the latte was killer
This was our first indoor dining since it was allowed again in stage 3 of Ontario reopening. Since it was a Monday, place was relatively empty, including their enclosed patio. Inside, everything was properly distanced for seating. Ordered the grilled squid, cod putanesca and veal picatta. All three dishes were very tasty and filling. We got both main dishes with steamed veggies instead of pasta and it was still very filling. Server was also great, polite and attentive. Overall, for my first time to this restaurant and back to eating indoors, a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend this place to try out.
We had the pasta carbonara and the pasta with chicken. Tasty and generous portions. Very fair price. The male bathroom was clean but needs a renovation
Visited the place for a Friday dine in, 40 min before their closing time. They informed us beforehand about the situation and gave us the choice to continue with the order. They had a very pretty outside seating although the day we went, it was slightly hot. We were looking for veg options and they helped us customize our pasta accordingly. Considering the amount of time they had left, they were quick with the order and the pasta was super delicious. While I ordered a Alfredo sauce Fettuccine, my friend ordered Penne Pasta in Alfredo Sauce. So far, the best Alfredo sauce I have tried, it had a rich taste to it. The quantity was really good, my friend and I, regretted ordering two pastas, as half the portion filled us. As we couldn't finish the order, they even helped us with packing it up. In terms of customer service and taste, highly recommended
A small $8 cesar salad came in a small side plate, with no bacon and about 3 to 4 croutons on it. The Veal Piccata with Penne was $21. I was charged $3 extra for the Arrabiatta spicy sauce. I was told because it's made from real peppers. Hardly any peppers in the sauce as it was not spicy, and not enough sauce. Definitely not worth the $3 over charge. I was expecting a small bread basket, as customary in any Italian cuisine with my pasta. No side bread. However, the veal was delicious! The server was nice. As for decor, the place is outdated inside. They can honestly use new glasses as well, as my glass was old and worn out. Was it worth the price? No.
One of our families go to spots for great food. We've been going since it opened and now bring our kids. The food is always delicious. My personal favorite is the grilled calamari, can't get enough. My kids love the pasta and pizza. The owner is wonderful along with the rest of the staff.
