We had a fantastic dinner at La Petit Chef in the Jokers Theatre and Comedy Club! The experience was really cute and the food was excellent. One main callout that was greatly appreciated was the club's accommodation for dietary restrictions. Our 5 course meal was halal as requested. This was such a delight to experience! Check out the videos on the dinner experience I've shared but definitely try this out at least once for yourself. Great for celebrations.
Looking for something fun to do in the GTA? The newly opened Jokers Theatre & Comedy Club located in Richmond Hill, Ontario is a great option. It has stand up comedy on Friday & Saturday evenings. Perfect for date nights or sharing laughter with your family or friends. We all need some laughter and entertainment to relieve our stress and anxiety these days and Jokers Club is one of the best remedies. BEST Part? Lots of free parking around Jokers Club + being entertained in Richmond Hill without the need to travel to downtown and get stuck in traffic or having to pay expensive parking is a total bonus! Whether you are dining here for dinner, drinks and then a show. Or just like me, get a ticket, find a table and order the drinks and enjoy the show! Whatever works for you, you will definitely have a good time!
The Jokers Theatre and Comedy Club is recently opened, it's spacious, modern, clean and organized. The stage is new, clean and it's inviting. Moment you walked in, the ambience and light fixtures are LIT to make you feel welcome but more importantly, you know you are walking into an entertainment show! Staff from the hostess to the servers are friendly. The hostess will scan our e-ticket and then glided us to our table. There are a good decent food options and cocktails. It's so refreshing to have a comedy and entertainment club in Richmond Hill that is close distance to Woodbridge, Markham, Newmarket and the York Region. With ample of free parking spaces around the venue, it's definitely a great alternative without the need to drive to downtown Toronto and stuck in traffic and pay expensive parking if you ever find a spot. I had eaten here before and the food were quite good. It's not special but comfort food that are reasonably priced and with good portion. In particular, I enjoyed the fried calamari and the grilled Atlantic salmon. I really appreciate the management really invest in this venue space. Many other venues, the owners wouldn't upgrade the venue space or renovate, making the venue looks very run down, which wouldn't get anyone to the door. So, watching a standup comedy is great here at the Jokers Club. For the foodies who wants an immersive dining experience. Le Petit Chef is a nice spot. I haven't tried it but I saw a glimpse of it and this experience is available in other parts of the world, it looks cool. Someday, I would like to check out Le Petit Chef. It has a cool space that is audio proof that will not be distracted by the main stage. As club settles in, they are planning to do magic shows, live band karaoke and other unique entertainment. Can't wait to come back! Highly recommended for those who are looking for something to do especially on Fridays and Saturdays evenings.
Amazing shows, amazing food, amazing service! It’s brand new and still sparkling clean. Tons of space, free parking and the friendliest people meet you at the front door, so you are taken care of from the minute you walk in. Find a reason to go! Comedy, karaoke, magic shows, +++ I recommend this place 100% and highly suggest you go! I had a great great great time! I’m going back on Wednesday! Tickets are booked. See you there.
With its infancy comes growing pains, which stemmed from a malfunctioning printer, so the kitchen and bar weren’t aware they were receiving orders. Ultimately, this resulted in a 20-minute wait for drinks and over an hour wait for food, during a July visit. At first, we didn’t mind waiting for food as their martinis $15 each were so satisfying. The French martini was dangerously smooth thanks to the sweet Chambord and pineapple juice mixed with the vodka, a lovely summery drink. The Lychee Loves Lips martini was a bit stronger with the addition of lychee liqueur to the vodka. Although, I was a little disappointed to a lemon slice garnishing the drink instead of lychee. Even a canned lychee would really add to the experience. As much as we loved the drinks, after waiting 45 minutes, we finally asked someone to check on the food. It was then they discovered the kitchen hadn’t received our order and quick fired a complimentary bruschetta not offered on their regular menu to keep us satisfied while our meal was being prepared. We were thankful to have something to tie us over. I imagine they were rushing to send out food as the frito misto $19 needed better draining to remove the excess oil and create a crispier flour coating. At least they were well seasoned, and the first bites super crispy and wonderfully hot. Being a frito misto, or a mixture of fried seafood, ideally the appetizer should contain more than a few shrimps. Alternatively, Jokers should consider dropping the scant crustacean and relabel this as fried calamari instead. With two simple tweaks, the burger $19 could shine as it was tasty and incorporated fresh ingredients. Firstly, cook the beef to medium so the thick patty isn’t so hard. Otherwise, if pink beef is not in the cards, chefs should form looser patties so they are less dense or switch it up and use two thinner patties instead. Secondly, nix the romaine or at least the rib portion of the lettuce leaf as the hard and uneven surface area causes the patty to slip and soft brioche bun to break. There’s a reason why ice burg is so widely used. At least the fries were hot and crispy. My friend noted her steak was cooked to the requested medium rare but had a burnt taste. We figure it stems from two causes: either the pan/grill wasn’t properly cleaned between uses in this case, make sure they are cleaned or the black pepper sauce covering the steak was burnt. If it’s the later reason, to ensure the steak doesn’t cool off or overcook, present the steak at the table first and let the customer know the sauce is being prepared again and will be brought separately. I would much rather wait for the sauce than have burnt tasting steak. Hopefully, as the restaurant matures, they will develop stronger front-of-the-house management or staff will become more cognizant of operations and communicate better. Indeed, businesses are reliant on technology, which causes havoc when there are issues, but seasoned personnel can mitigate or reduce the aftereffects. For example, I’m surprised it took us checking on our food for Jokers to figure out the kitchen wasn’t getting orders. When they are approaching a busy dinner period and food isn’t being ordered or coming out of the kitchen, shouldn’t someone notice – either the kitchen, our server, or management? With the drinks, even after technology issues were resolved, we noticed my friend’s second martini sitting at the bar for ~10 minutes before it was finally brought over. Our server was helping serve the Le Petit Chef dinner, but there were other people milling around the bar. Given Jokers operates two venues in one, management needs to be on the lookout for ready-to-serve drinks and food and/or servers need to communicate and ask others to cover when they are serving during Le Petit Chef periods.
We definitely needed a place like this in York Region. Jokers is a great place for a night out, especially during our pandemic era. Laughter is great for the soul !!!! Food is fantastic. Atmosphere and staff are so welcoming and makes you feel at home...Shout out to Khel, thanks grl for being so wonderful!!!!!
Wow! Totally blown away by the atmosphere here. We enjoyed the shows, magic & comedy, very entertaining. The food was great, service was quick. Can't wait to go back again. Le Petit Chef promises to be a one of a kind experience and we hope that we can dine here soon. So wonderful to have such an awesome new club in the 905.
Saw a show here last night, July 2nd. It it’s an amazing environment and the staff have good energy. The acts were great as well! My reason for a 3/5 rating it because our food and beverage service was poorly executed. The server herself seemed very nice and was apologetic but I get the sense things were not organized as many people around us got their orders while we did not. We ordered ahead of the show starting at 9. We didn’t get anything until after 10pm. We had multiple people taking the orders again and again. Finally beverages came and later food but both were the wrong order or someone else’s maybe. They fixed the beverages but we just took the plain wings we ordered bbq and just asked them to cancel the rest since it was still not ready and the show was almost done. Our server said she’d comp the beverages. We waited a while after the show to pay for the wings, they couldn’t find the bill so they “compd” that for us as well. I would still give the place another try! I hope things are better next time. ****Edit***** Came back for a second visit today August 19th. Really enjoyed it, I thought the acts were funny! Atmosphere is great, server was really friendly and our food came out quickly. We really appreciated being welcomed back a second time. At one point during the show, servers were doing closing duties cutlery behind us and the comedian made a few jokes about this being a distraction, they caught on and had the staff move elsewhere. I appreciated their attention to hosting and ensuring patrons have a good time. I get the sense they really care about providing an amazing experience which makes you want to keep coming back. I would recommend Jokers to anyone and I look forward to returning. Especially to try the le petite chef experience!
