This monument in memory of John Young the father of the port was erected in front of the port in 1908. John Young was the first Chairman of the Port Commission, responsible for enlarging and developing the port. The fountain is just beautiful to look at. My Uber just dropped my friend and I off when we set up the destination at old port.
One of the best preserved corners of Old Montreal, a couple of steps from the port. If you're walking along rue de la Commune, make sure to stop not just for the monument and the water fountain in front of it, but also for one of the more successfully restored cityscapes anywhere.
Just a nice little monument near old port
This place at sunset is amazing for photos. Unfortunately they emptied the fountain for health reasons maybe that will change this summer
Come here!! There are a lot of historical buildings around. Don’t miss it!
