Our party had mostly burgers. The hamburger patties were some well and had a good flavor. However, the mushroom swiss burger had canned mushrooms instead of fresh. The waitress was very friendly.
The John’s burger is what you want when you are craving an old school burger. Good coneys. Big breakfast was a hit with my partner in crime. Everything is good. Super great service!
My boyfriend and I are regulars here and have had an amazing experience every time. Their waitresses are very friendly and attentive. They remember you and your usual orders drinks and usually the meals too whether you've been there once or have been there a thousand times. The food is delectable extremely delicious! Now let's talk portion sizes, you'll have more food for your dollar going to John's. They have generous portions that are freshly cooked! Between the two of us we've had everything on their menu nothing has ever disappointed us. I highly recommend this adorable family diner. Best place to eat in Flint and the surrounding areas!!
It was so good that I had breakfast to go and brought a friend back for lunch ! The food was fresh, delicious and awesome! The service was even better! Everyone was helpful kind and friendly but Haley took outstanding care of us both times! John's rocks! Oh and those onion rings... love them especially. Will be back soon. Thanks!Food: 5/5
Food was good, service was amazing I need to get her name and update this. As far as rating the "atmosphere" it was what was expected for a "diner" and comfortable so I gave that 5 stars. Compare apples to apples. I was just really disappointed they didn't have old fashioned Detroit style "chili" dogs with the sauce. I was craving one! They only offer the "Flint" coney dogs with just dry hamburger meat.
I love going here for a nice easy dinner after work. It is a friendly, family owned restaurant. I am gluten free, so I know I can always get a simple side salad and chicken breast. I personally would like to see the booth seats recovered, UT that doesn't stop me from going there. Parking: Just come in slow cause the curb is atrocious to go over. I don't think that is their fault. That would be the road commission or township.
You definitely want to eat here! Excellent! Delicious homemade food, not a bunch of packaged/instant junk. We LOVE the Hot Turkey Sandwiches, but really, everything my family and I have ordered has exceeded our expectations. The Fish and Chips are very good, as are their Burgers, Coney Dogs, Clams, Club Sandwiches, Onion Rings, and Fries. Their Breakfast Meals are so good sometimes we order Breakfast for Dinner! Large, fluffy Pancakes, Eggs prepared correctly, Biscuits and Gravy...oh my! Go see for yourself, you won't be sorry!
I have been wanting to try John's Coney Island for several years and today was my first trip in. It seems like a small diner from the outside. There are approximately 25-30 booths and tables. The waitstaff was continously cleaning during my visit. My lunch today pictured was a Flint Coney and an order of Homemade Onion Rings with a glass of ice water. T My waitress warned me that the onion rings were a large order. She didn't lie. It was a a large order of the best onion rings ever. I mean the order of O-rings at John's is the world standard and what a person dreams about when they think of giant fresh homemade onion rings. The coney was good sporting a line of mustard and generously topped with diced onion. My glass was never empty. My waitress was personable, friendly and knew the menu well. The manager was on site amd very friendly to speak to as well. I would absolutely recommend stopping for a meal here at John's. I only give 4/5 stars because I reserve 5 stars for a really fancy quality dining experience. However, I have faith that John's will not disappoint you. Bon Appétit! J.S.G.
Never even knew this place was here. This is such an amazing coney island place. We had the breakfast and the food was great. I recommend this place. Staff was great and inside was very clean. I will definitely be visiting this place again.Food: 5/5
