I keep telling Google I haven't been here but it's insistent, now asking for a review. So, in order to please it's Highness, I'm writing this bit of drivel. So here's what I know... JJ Korean market has been there for a long time. It would have to be doing some sort of business for it to be there for as long as it has. I imagine for it to do business in Halifax, it would have to do good business. I've never heard anyone speak bad of this business but then, I am not Korean. If I were you I would definitely visit JJ Korean market. OK Google Google, how is this? Will you leave me alone now?

I wanted to make a few Korean dishes (my very first time) for a couple friends of mine that used to live in Korea. I was nervous about going to a new store filled with ingredients I didn't know very much about. The people at JJ Korean Mart were wonderful, and went out of their way to help me find everything I needed to make Dakgalbi, Japchae, and Mandu! Thanks to their help everything turned out great with the dinner I made. I would definitely go to this store again.

Every time I go in the owners make sure I find everything that I want/need to make certain recipes. If I'm buying something that may require some special care in making it they double check I know, and if I don't they take time to explain it.

The couple that owns this place always remembers me. Last time I went the peppers I wanted to buy were apparently "not up to standard" so they gave them to me for free! They are also always willing to give helpful advice or load me up with cardboard boxes when I'm moving. It's the friendly kind of locally owned business you want to support. :) Not to mention, of course, the convenience of being able to pick up delicious Korean foods.
