Tops diner is a LEGEND to the University Heights area. As a Rutgers Newark alum, I was in here at least once a month. Great food at a reasonable price. They have a 20 page menu and somehow everything is still fresh. How? Try any cheesecake and they're all slamming.
Nice, fresh, good value if you're into sandwiches.
Really delicious. Had the fajitas, will come back for Mediterranean dishes. Everything tasted fresh and great quality.

Usually would rate this store a 5 star. But today for lunch I ordered a Vito. Completely missing half of the meat. I also ordered extra oil/vinegar. Usually they do a good amount, this time I swear the oil FILLED the bottom of the bag getting all over my car. I couldn’t even eat half the sandwich is was so bad.

Want the best sandwich experience. Had to charge my card three times because the cashier forgot to ring up my chips with my order and then only rang up one bag when I'd ordered two... other then that though the food was great!
Good food fast service! Love it.
