Absolutely delicious food! If you love Indian food, then you’ll love this place. The only reason I am rating it lower is because it took about 1.5 hours to get our food. This wasn’t a huge problem, but be aware if time is an issue for you. Their chicken tikka massala is really delicious. I also ate their mango ice cream e which was really tasty.
I have had several meals here and all have been tasty and satisfying. Great portions for the price, sometimes enough leftovers for lunch the next day. My favorites are the Onion Kulcha, Paneer Kulcha, Chicken La-Jawab, and Chicken Shahi Korma. I've also heard from friends that the mango lassi is good. Once you find your favorite dishes, it's hard to resist! Take-out and delivery are pretty fast. If you dine-in, they bring you to a table, but you scan the QR code on the table and order and pay from your phone. Then they bring the food when ready and you just leave when you're done. The tables and the restaurant itself is clean as well. Additionally, if you download the Snackpass app, you can see pictures of every single menu item which is helpful if you aren't sure what something is. Pictures and online ordering are also available on their Square website which is linked on their main website. Would recommend!
I would certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The curries had watery consistency, lacked flavor on the whole. The naan’s were undercooked. The chicken biryani had raw chicken pieces. When I complained to my server who herself was an Indian, she seemed offended and stated that the restaurant had been serving the same quality food for the past 32 years and was famous among the Indians and foreigners. This restaurant clearly needs to work on the quality of food and customer service. I am just hoping that the food my friends and I have eaten would not lead to any poisoning. We just wasted the entire order and the money spent on it. Thankyou :
Worst restaurant that I have ever dined in. Leave food, even the owner/server are rude af. One can get away with bad food for once but this restaurant is a combination of bad food and bad people. They do not know how take criticism. They even denied us spoons and spoke rudely right from the beginning. Food is not bad, it is inedible. I would not visit the restaurant even if someone pays me to eat here again.
We had an excellent experience in every way. The food was some of the best I have ever had at any restaurant. We ordered way too much food just to try a variety and it was all excellent. There were large portions and very reasonable prices. Thank you Jewel of India!
The best Indian food I have ever had! I go out of my way for it whenever I'm in the area. The staff is great. I've been going for years and never had a bad experience. Make this a stop when you're in town.Food: 5/5
Very good people. The food was excellent but thats not the reason I am writing this review. Our car battery died due to extreme cold and the good people from the Jewel of India dropped us home. <3 Recommended for both hospitality and food.
Everything we tried here was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was ridiculously good, the rice was seasoned so deliciously, and so was the naan with lamb. One of my favorite places now in Hanover/Lebanon area. Only thing is, a heads up, it’s not your typical serving atmosphere. It looks like the owners run the place and serve at the same time and it gets busy so they move at a fast pace and ask you to order online. Knowing this going in was super helpful and made the experience more than enjoyable given the amazing quality of the food.
The food was excellent! Fresh! Parking right out front! Friendly staff. Great environment! The dishes were out of this world and filled with so many wonderful flavors. Highly recommend go here when you want to spice up your life and enjoy some amazing soulful food!!!
If you are looking for Indian food in the Upper Valley your options are slim. This place offers the fix for those in search of the flavorful and spicy traditional dishes at a reasonable price. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating as well as takeout. Service was ok. It is located right off the beaten path in Hanover with plenty of street parking to be found.
