What s great local find in Lombard. Lots of menu items. Needed more time to make a selection as it's order at counter. Pleasantly surprised when they served use our food at our table. Nice! Great portion size for gyro plate. Enough left over for lunch next day. Very tasty and authentic.
Delicious food and reasonable prices! It was my first time here and a very enjoyable experience. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. The foods presentation was beautiful too! Lovely spot to eat all around.
Reasonably priced. Generous portions. Good food. The owner’s kind.. it’s a Cute family restaurant. Very clean. We had a good experience. Parking: Ample parking Dietary restrictions: Zabiha halal
I'm IN LOVE with Jerusalem Cafe Ever since we moved here from the city, it's been my favorite place to enjoy a great meal at home on the weekends. And the restaurant itself is wonderful, too- just a welcoming spot for everyone that I take all my friends to when they visit. The falafel is to die for, super light yet crispy and garlicky. Fantastic hummus, and exceptionally well seasoned and seared meat and delicious baklava and fruit drinks. Highly highly recommend
Tough one here... The food was really good, especially the beef shawarma...It was incredible to say the least...The chicken shawarma was avg...It was tender, but a bit light on the seasoning...The rice was good and the falafel was on the upper end of ones I've had previously...They charge you for sauce that you might want with your meal...The front counter gave me two 2oz cups of two different sauces to try out, which were good... My issue was cleanliness...If you zoom in on the fountain dispenser you will see black film where the soda dispenses on all of the flavors ... Underneath the machine looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while as well...I wondered what the inside of the ice dispenser looked like and the lines for the soda as well... There are other spots that need a deep cleaning as well... Everyone I came across, especially at the counter were friendly and courteous...The pricing for what they offer for their lunch combination special is pretty amazing for the amount of food you are served... Once again, good food, good pricing and some detailed cleaning is sorely needed...
Didn't love as much as I thought I would after seeing all the photos and reviews, but regardless food was OK. This one is a casual Mediterranean cafe that seems to have taken over what might have been a diner at one point. Bright red exterior makes it hard to miss when we drove to find it. Definitely a hole in the wall sort of spot and a bit dated feeling. Plenty of seating when we dropped by on a weekend for an early dinner, yet seemed to be quite the spot take out. In regards to food, we did a series of entree plates to share between 4 ppl. I personally think it's deceiving how much food you actually think you're getting. I thought we'd have quite a bit of leftover, but ended up with just a lot of rice pilaf to take home. Meats were on the dry side and rice was a overly oily and had me worried about my stains on my clothes. Anyways, I think the lunch combo specials might be the better value here opposed to the full priced entrees. On the plus side, I did enjoy the tabouleh salad and baba ghanoush. That's all I got on this one. 'Til next time, cheers!
First time I came here, I took my father out for a birthday lunch with my family. The hospitality at Jerusalem Cafe was unmatched! The food was amazing. I have been here around 3 times and it has been consistently delicious. The combination feast is a meal fit for a king
Ordered shawarma entree and it came with a small slice of pita bread and barely any rice. This is not worth $15. The rationing is pathetic. Do better.
Excellent gyro plate with rice pilaf. Meat was tender with crispy edges. Make sure to get the red and green sauces, very fresh and has some good heat and flavor. Had this for the first time tonight and loved it. I usually get the hummus and shawarma with chicken which is recommended as well. Decent portions size.
My goodness, this might have been the best food I have ever eaten! I got the combination feast and it gave me a little taste of everything. The best part was the hospitality, I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. Would definitely be coming back as much as I can!
