Jenk's Bait & Tackle has been in business for over 66 years! We are your St. Croix Rod Headquarters! We have a complete line of fishing tackle and live bait (including indigenous wild caught minnows, suckers, and chubs) and are located just 13 miles East of Hayward, Wisconsin. Our rod and reel prices are competitive with, and often priced lower than the discounters and catalogs. Also, as of October of 2014, we are also offering basic gun repair and special order firearms for all of your firearms needs whether it be hunting, home and self-defense, or sport shooting. Whether you seek hunting and fishing information, want to hire a guide to fish the Chippewa Flowage or surrounding Hayward Lakes, or if you simply want to chat about the Hayward area, we're here 7 days a week to help make your stay a pleasant one. Jenks is a great shop. I have been coming here for years and Randy previous owner and now Mike,the current owner have always taken care of me with great customer service. They sell great gear at a fair price. Here’s a tip - before you buy from a big box store like Bass Pro etc call Mike, he doesn’t raise prices just because everyone else does and you’ll be surprised how many times he’s a better deal, plus you feel good knowing you’re supporting a local Wisconsin business. Caught August 4th 2022 on Chief Lake at the Chippewa Flowage. The Northern Pike was 13 lb ,14-in girth, and 34 in length. He put up a great fight and was a lot of fun to catch.
Great bait shop! Open at 6:00am, which is awesome! I was there a little early one morning so I was waiting in my truck for the shop to open. I saw the OPEN sign light up and immediately the owner personally came out to the parking lot to great me with a handshake, how refreshing!! Jenks will always get my business when I am in the Hayward area

Jenks is the best for your tackle needs simple selection with great prices , I’ve stopped in here to stock up on musky lures , spent the last 2 years building my tackle box from this store . A must stop for the avid fisherman.
Stopped in here for the first time a few weeks ago to grab a couple of things to go fishing. When i got up to the counter i was waited on by a very friendly lady pretty sure it was the owner :. She was funny, had a great personality and made me feel welcome instantly. I have been using D&B tackle right up the road all summer, they also have very nice owners, Gerald Green is a hoot! Lol. But now that I've checked out this bait shop i will probably split my business between the two. Being kind to your customers goes a long way and says a lot about you as a person. I will be back for years to come. First impressions are everything!
I was there a few weeks back, with my father, not too familiar with the area. The owner Mike, was very helpful and took the time to explain many things to a rookie like me, i ended up catching a few walleye and couple white fish, for two days i was there you can call it a successful fishing trip. Thank you for your help. I will definitely make this my stop before any fishing trip in the area.
I needed to be set up with a complete rig and was outfitted with an AWESOME pole and all the gear I needed to start fishing. I actually caught a 10 inch big mouth bass the very first day out! Friendly guys, great gear,live bait ... They are the full package.
The place to go... Additionally, prices are in line and the "limited selection" is limited to relevant gear. Not supercenter junk. And Mike, took the time to help mark out a map with day and evening spots. Top notch service and knows the Chip. Go support this local business, please.
