Damn, this was good. Honestly, I've never been disappointed by Afghan food but this still exceeded expectations. My husband and I split the Ashak and Mantu; we loved both. I was honestly a little hesitant when I first saw the prices, but felt fine about it once I tasted the food.I hope Afghan food becomes more widely available in the US; it's really a great cuisine.
The food here is amazing! The koftas were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The chicken kebabs were so tender. The mantu... omg! Amazing! If you like spices and flavor, you will love this place too! They are located in the Spice Bridge food hall and operate Thursday-Saturday.
Swung by Spice Bridge on my way back home from the airport and decided to try the qabili pilau from Jazze's. We had originally wanted the lamb but they only had the chicken available. So we went with that, waited about 20 minutes for our order and then took it home and ate. The qabili pilau was exquisite. Beautifully fragrant and spiced - a feast for the eyes and senses. Gorgeous presentation with caramelized carrots, raisins, cranberries, almonds. Abundant and well distributed within the rice. The chicken, which I believe was marinated in yogurt, was under the rice and there was enough for each mouthful. I had asked about the price $35 because it appeared to be different in different places, and was informed that prices were adjusted for rising food costs, which is super valid. After trying the pilau, my husband and I agreed that Jazze's could even charge more - the value is there, it fed both of us - two very good eaters - well, and the food was absolutely stunning. We'll be back to try the lamb version and the mantu... honestly, we'll be back to try everything. Spice Bridge is a wonderful place, very near the airport, and I'll find a way to stop there as often as I can.
This place is AMAZING and the service is even better. It is so delicious and made with love. It is truly a SMALL business made by a mama so please give grace! Her food and portions are outstanding!
delicious food, wonderful service. Wife & husband team are very sweet, accommodating, and understanding after a grubhub snafu - I will definitely be getting food from them directly rather than grubhub next time.
Definitely a must try! Lucky to have Jazze’s so close to my home.
