Remember the old saying “The only certain things in life are death and taxes". At Jay Baxter CPA, we want you to be "certain" that your income taxes were prepared properly and you got all of your deductions and credits.

At your tax appointment, we will go over your information, ask questions, and answer your questions. We will make suggestions to help you reduce your taxes this year and in the future. All tax returns are prepared by one individual and checked by another to insure accuracy and minimize taxes. We use top-of-the-line software to prepare your return, which analyzes the return, checking for errors, unusual amounts, and possible tax saving opportunities. We will file your return electronically at no extra charge.

If you do not have time for an appointment, you may email, mail, or drop off your tax information. We will review the information you have given us. If we believe anything is missing or have suggestions, we will call or email you. Then we will prepare your return and contact you when it is completed.

Our prices are reasonable and we are available all year if you have a tax question or a problem. Should you get a notice from the IRS, we will respond to the IRS for you and represent you if necessary. There will be no charge for these services if the notice was caused by our error.

After we have prepared your return, each following year we will email or mail you a questionnaire with the previous year's information and blanks for the new year's information. This is a very useful tool for preparing for your appointment. Or if you wish, you can email or mail the completed questionnaire back to us and we will prepare your return based on it.

Should you have any tax questions during the year, please contact us. In general, we do not charge for simple questions that can be answered in a short conversation or email. We do not want you to make an expensive, bad decision because you are afraid of being billed. If the question is more difficult and requires additional time, we will discuss the fee before starting.
