It's your typical Chinese take out at a fair price. My family has been ordering from them for YEARSSSSS, the food used to be 5 star worthy, but after COVID they went crazy heavy on the sauces. Food could be sooooo much better if it wasn't 50% sauce, drowned in sauce, tsunamid in sauce, flooded in sauce. I think you get the point....Definitely the best Chinese in Simsbury though by far.
The service was fast and friendly, the price is definitely right. Overall the food tasted pretty fresh, the vegetables were crisp and freshly-cooked, and not overdone like some places. Overall we are pleased with this place. The interior of the restaurant could use a little freshening, it was reasonably clean but it wasn't attractive in appearance. As somebody else stated, this is one of the less expensive places around if you're dining on a budget. I would have really liked to have given this four stars, but I think the interior needed to be a little bit cleaner for the dining in experience. This is irrelevant for those of you just getting take out.
Excellent. They go light on the oil. More broc would be nice with the Gen Tso's, but otherwise superb. ***UPDATE: Had a bit of a letdown on a Tuesday order. Chicken was way overcooked. Veg Lo Mein was light on veg. It was not as good as I've come to expect. ***SECOND UPDATE: The General Tso's chicken is still way overcooked. Veg lo mein is all noodles and little else. Currently going out of my way for Main Moon, which never disappoints. Owner: Please let me know when you fix these issues, and I'll try again and revise my review.
I have now been here twice. First time I had it delivered and since the driver got lost and took longer to get, I decided to pick it up. I went in and this very polite young lady was at the counter and greeted me. I was amazed, she took my phone number, got my order and made sure I didn't need anything else. My friend went with me and he had to pay for his order, as I prepaid so I didn't. He was even impressed. This young lady used the register and never missed a beat. I am also so happy with their food. Tasted great and there wasn't anything that I ordered that the kids didn't like. This will be my new Chinese restaurant to go to. I used to go to the one in town where I live, but was never really impressed. Prices are good and the food is great, service is excellent!
lady was very rude during my transaction. Make sure you say well done on the chicken cause it will be raw. Food is never hot.Food: 1/5
Ordered pork with green beans and garlic sauce. Dish was so spicy as to be inedible. Meat was dry and appeared to be overly processed. Also ordered fried dumplings, which were more steamed than fried. Hot and sour soup was unimpressive. Only reason for two star rating is that the staff was personable and friendly.
If you think you were going to get your take-out order on time as they say on their website order system you will be wrong. Make sure that you give them at least an extra 20 minutes. They said it would be ready in 30 minutes and it was actually ready in 50 minutes.Just wanna give you a heads up in case you were in a hurry or you wanted your food in a timely fashion.
Jason's House is my go-to Chinese delivery in town and has been for around 20 years. Good food, awesome people. My husband thinks the egg rolls are too salty, but he and I are at the very extremes of the spectrum of feelings about salt. I love the them. We both love the dumplings.
Placed order online with a pickup time a half hour later. When I got to the restaurant for the pick up time the order was not ready. It took another half hour for the order to be complete. I then found that the order was not even correct. Sesame chicken was way over cooked. The dumplings and egg roll were incredibly salty. I don't think that I will be back to this place.
Been customer for 20+years. New owners? Wouldn't take order by phone, told to do it online. Took me to menufy and the prices were higher than my last menu. Then the delivery took forever. They used to be the fastest.
