A tasty breakfast from Island Cuisine this morning. I purchased a small ackee and saltfish, and for only $8, the portion was very generous. There was a bit too much oil but aside from that, I loved the breakfast overall. A small, yet clean restaurant located in a quiet plaza. I'm looking forward to another visit when I'm in the area.
Total rubbish. My first time buying food from them and i recieved nonsese. I ordered from ubereat . Food came very and tasted and looked like a 2 days food which was just packed for me cause they ready to go home. Couldnt each this trush. Never again. And am going to make a video about your restaurant and put it on all my social media platforms.
Came here for lunch today, and the food was not too bad. The fried chicken was good. The rice & peas was okay. Will try the jerk pork later
Just went to ask her, regarding F1 fingerprints, the owner of the business was nice, but got little frustrated. Bcz too many people ask about that place. But still helpful. . I know its not related to food, but still she was nice and helpful so just to appreciate her help!! Best wishes for your Businesses beautiful!! Thank you Dear!
Update August 1 2022: Went in today and ordered LG BBQ fry chicken with Rice and peas, a small curry goat with white rice and coleslaw and a fry dumplin. The curry goat was good and the white rice was okay. The BBQ fried chicken was disappointing. The chicken while bland was smothered in the BBQ sauce. The rice and peas was awful, it was way too soft, clumpy and unevenly cooked. I did not get the coleslaw I paid for, which was surprising as it was not mentioned there'd be a charge for it. The cashier was friendly and engaging but the food here is too inconsistent. This is my 3rd order here and so far only one order was good. Update : Used skip the dishes to place a 7pm order and I was quite disappointed in the difference of the quality of food I received. The fry chicken was dry, the bbq chicken was hard and seemed like it has been left out since lunch, the jerk pork left much to be desired as there was a lot of oil, fat and skin. It was also quite unusual to have fresh, raw onions and carrots cut up on top of the jerk pork. Down from 5 to 2 stars.... The food was fresh and delicious. The lady at the cash was pleasant, she might have been one of the owners, she also made inviting conversations while I waited on my order. I ordered a large BBq-Fry and a small curry goat, the portions were appropriate and fair. The restaurant is clean and I would definitely recommend Jamaica Island.
I've ordered from here more than once and the food wasn't very good each time. Really bland for one. the portions are also ridiculously small. A large jerk chicken came with 1 leg. the rice both rice and peas and white rice was dried out and hard with no flavor. I ordered and ox tail and literally got ZERO gravy, like there was NO gravy and the meat was tough to chew. I would be embarrassed to give this food out to anyone. I ordered fried chicken with rice and peas and curry gravy. It was delicious to me. For some reason I tasted the homemade style in the food. I will try another dish another day. Me like it.
I eat from Jamaica Island about 1-2 per month. I’m a stickler for the same thing I usually get jerk pork w rice and peas Food has been consistently good I can’t complain. Staff is nice you feel welcomed. I’d definitely recommend.
Ordered food and they increased my price without confirming with me just for asking for hotsauce on the side. what kind of place charges for hotsauce on the side. 2nd time ordering this week food is overpriced and not worth it based on the taste. never ordering again. only ordered because its is the only jamaican place in my area. but ordered large oxtail and got 4 pieces of meat and mushy rice. now giving a second chance and food is still not up to par.
We ordered food from this restaurant today. The service was great. Staffs were professional and prompt. Unfortunately the food was horrible. We ordered jerk chicken, bbq chicken, and oxtail with rice and peas. The oxtail was okay. I would give it 2/5. But the jerk chicken and bbq chicken were not good at all. The jerk chicken looked and tasted like they cooked some chicken in the oven then wiped some jerk seasoning on top and served like that. Same with bbq chicken.
