The restaurant was busy but we were helped right away. We got to choose if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose inside. The outdoor area is nice and has the Blues Brothers watching over it. You have to serve your own coffee and water if you sit outside, which isn't the end of the world. I ordered a cheese omelette with a pancake and both were huge. I ended up taking both home for leftovers. My sister in law also ordered an omelette and she took hers home, too. The waitress was super friendly. They don't do substitutions for anything, so keep that in mind when you go there. I wanted to substitute a pancake instead of the toast, but they said no, so I had to order the pancake separately. The food was delicious; probably the best omelette I've had in a long time. I would definitely go back next time I'm in town. Parking: Parking is limited and it's in the back of the restaurant.
Walking inside this fine establishment it takes you back to 1950s. As soon as we sat down a waitress pours us up some fresh coffee. We order the Jake’s cafe scramblers with sausage egg & cheese. Takes about 10 minutes from kitchen to our table. The first glance at our plates there is enough food to feed 3-4 people per plate. The quality of food was 5/5 stars. Presentation was 4/5 looked like a giant pile of cheese and hash browns underneath. The portion size was extremely generous for 1 person. I would of got something more simple since I ate 1/4 of the breakfast pile. We left with 2 leftover boxes. We were kindly told to have a wonderful day by the ladies. I loved the warm small town inviting feel this establishment has to offer their community. I feel like I was a local just dining in made me feel like I was home. I would give this place 5/5 for atmosphere and the vibes are truly comfortable. I would recommend stopping by this location if your passing through especially in the morning!
Awesome place for breakfast. Everything was awesome! Great fries!. Super friendly service. Very busy every seat inside was taken and outside was half full and still got our food in 10 minutesFood: 5/5
What an amazing and very delicious place to come have breakfast. Very friendly waitresses and the portions are so big! Wow! I still can’t believe how much came with my order. It can get pretty busy here so plan on maybe waiting a bit to get a table. It’s totally worth it, it has a very 1950’s dinner vibe inside. I would highly recommend if your in the area.
Very busy on Saturday around 11:30 am. Cool photos from the 50s, 60s, 70s. Reminds you of the old school diner. Highly recommend the cinnamon roll. It was one of the best that I have ever tasted. The icing was creamy, sweet, with a hint of cinnamon and the roll was nice and soft. Also recommend the chicken fried steak and the California scramble. Both meals included a healthy amount of shredded hash browns and the California scramble was loaded with bacon, onions, cheese, and avocados.
My husband and I tried Jake’s after riding past it several times. The restaurant itself is adorable. It is full of fun things to look at. The staff was friendly and fast. The best part of Jake’s is the food. The portions were huge and the food was delicious. We received our orders in record time and as stated earlier it was DELICIOUS!
Super-cool retro diner. Great sandwiches club, Reuben, French dip, and hot turkey were our choices. A pile of fries as big as your head! Onion rings we're tasty, too!
We ordered the California scramble and split it. They charged a dollar for the extra plate which is totally understandable. The helping sizes are huge, and don't scrimp on any of the ingredients. Would give more stars if possible.Food: 5/5
1st time in. Wait staff was super friendly, you can see the pancakes are huge and easy to split at this size. My waitress said their steak is really good. The space was clean and very welcoming and with a heated tent for outdoor dining. April 16 update: Steak and eggs today. Yummy, Med Rare on the steak, plenty of eggs and hashbrowns and I had the biscuit with butter and honey. Go there now and enjoy.
What a great dinner! Great service, awesome food. Portions are really big so definetly a place to share a meal.
