Spectacular, one-of-a-kind, walk-in park for able-bodied owners of dogs with good voice recall! Some descriptions of this park note that it is fenced on three sides, but it is NOT. There is a single fence separating the dog park from the other end of the island, and thick brush runs on the two long sides of the island— with breaks in the brush for river access. The double-gate does not lock. There are trash receptacles, waste bags, picnic tables, and benches closest to the fence; none at the river end. A best place to be a pup.
Such a beautiful dog park and a great spot to sit by the river, write, paint, swim, and enjoy the scenery and the sound of the water and people nearby. This will always be one of my favorite parks in Missoula.
In case anyone else is not from town - the parking lot was full on a Tuesday early morning, I didn’t realize it’s right next to campus so there are students taking up parking everywhere. Also, it’s a young crowd that goes here so when a girls dog bit mine and she looked at me blankly I knew this was not a great spot. There is a really nice long trail and grassy areas I would go to instead to avoid the dog park. Parallel parking is on both sides as well.
This might be the coolest dog park I've ever seen. It's literally an island for your dogs. Huge running area with even a little doggy beach where dogs can read into a little water.
Big park with fun low water access for the dogs. River on sides can get high and fast so be careful if your pup tries to get in.
Heaven on earth. It is an off leash park, but my brother won’t let me let his dog off, lol. Actually this is right before we got through the gates. Don’t worry, it’s totally off leash.
Such a good place for the pups. I am thankful to have a safe off leash park. It's always open, almost always drama free, and beautiful. For older dogs, or dog with bad hips or feet, be careful of the rocky end of the beach. The river comes over it in the spring but when it is dry it hurts the puppers feet.
The park was huge and plenty of trails for dogs to run through and explore. Access to the creek allows for dogs to play in the water to cool down on even the hottest days.
This is the best dog park!!! It's on the river with plenty of shallow spots, so even when it's 100 degrees out everyone can stay cool.
Great park with wading water access, lot of space for running and chasing a ball. However, the parking lot is a University lot and they will give tickets. There's construction, so I don't know if there is a designated dog park lot. We were there for 20 min and came back to a $20 ticket. Hopefully, we can get a visitor waiver. There should be storage parking for the dog park for those of us traveling and must needing a quick stop for our furry friends
