I’m granting this review one star to acknowledge a job well done on nail shape, however everything else about my experience at Jack’s was poor. My sister-in-law and I booked appointments at the same time so we could have a girls’ day, and when we arrived we immediately noticed no one was staffing reception and there were only two employees working the chairs. We had to wait approximately 40 minutes past our appointment time before we were shown to chairs. We did toes first, and I was disappointed that my nails were not really cut down at all and were not shaped very much via filing, either. I had had a dark green polish on prior and opted for a light champagne colour this time, I noticed a lot of green was left behind when the new colour was applied and expressed concern the green would show through. I was assured it would not; unfortunately it does, and I feel it makes my nails look very messy—almost like I have nail fungus or something. As for fingers, though impressed with the short square shape I got we both agreed colour coverage could have been a little better. This in and of itself isn’t a huge deal, however we both felt that our hands were handled a little rough and that the employees did not really communicate with us very well regarding how they wanted us to move our hands, that there was a specific ledge in the light we had to make sure we put our fingers on I was told this after I accidentally tapped a thumb on it and had to redo the top coat, my sister-in-law was not told and didn’t discover it by accident the way I did and her nails did not cure properly and are gummy, and I felt that four of my fingers were cut by the file. By the time we got home, I found two of those cuts were bleeding and my sister-in-law reported two similar bleeding cuts on her toes. We are a little concerned about sanitation, as we saw tools we assume had been cleaned were left on towels on a ledge behind the massage chairs that looked dusty, and we were also not provided with any kind of disposable sandals when transitioning from toes to fingers despite being told shoes needed to stay off to allow polish to cure, and had to walk across the room and have our nails done barefoot—in retrospect, had my sister-in-law realized she had been cut that deep on her toes at the time she never would have walked across that floor without some kind of shoe, and we felt weird about doing it anyway. We also noticed other customers seemed frustrated with the service: for example, when we arrive there was one other customer in the chairs and once we were taken, she was left in her chair and I didn’t see anyone check on her again until she spoke up to tell them she needed to leave to be somewhere else. We definitely give Jack’s points for overall nail shape and price, but we’ll be going elsewhere for sure.
I’ve been visiting Lyn for about 6 months now and she is phenomenal. She takes her time in ensuring you are satisfied with the outcome. She takes the extra time to get it right the first time and perfects the nail color, design and shape. Prices are also reasonable. The salon itself can use a bit of cleanup and reorganization, however, the service has been great. I will be continue visiting Lyn!
AWFUL!!! Do not come here. I now have to go get a shot after what they’ve gone. As soon as I sat down, the girl was very short and rude with me. She then literally grabbed my hand once I decided length and started using the drill in fast motions and not even 1 minute in gashed my pinky finger so bad it wouldn’t stop bleeding. I’m not talking a regular nic you can sometimes get with one of these machines, I’m talking full out gash. The girl grabbed my gash with her bare hands and started putting paper towel and such on, no gloves and dealing with my open wound. I told her to go put gloves on and she rolled her eyes at started speaking her language to the other techs. They did not offer to fix my nail, OR fix my other nails they started shaping down. So now I left with a big gash, a broken nail and the rest uneven. I would go as far as reporting this place to health & safety with how this was handled.Service: Manicure
I am a senior male trying to explain with so little opportunity to make this sound as wonderful as it was. Too bad they only have so few stars. I had such a wonderful pedicure by Linh. A lovely young lady. She had put so very much great effort into making sure all was well for when I left and for many days after. I know when I need another service there will be no other to do my pedicure than her. She made sure there was no pain and great detail done to each phlange. I hope she never leaves as so many great estiticians sp do. I recommend Miss Linh to anyone that needs healthy foot care.
I've been getting my nails done here for years, the ladies are exceptional. The price is reasonable, customer service is awesome, and the nail techs take their time to ensure you are happy with your nails. The owner Crystal makes you feel welcomed into the salon. I recently had my lashes done by Cassidy and I received lots of compliments. I highly recommend their service.
I love coming here. The ladies who work here are professional and fun to talk to. They do a great job with both my manis and pedis. The owner, Crystal, is very responsive and easy to talk to. As a man, I don't generally get polish, but prefer the "buff and shine" method which requires a special piece of equipment. Haven't been able to find it anywhere in Calgary. Crystal heard me out and ordered it for me, which I really appreciate. For this reason, I will def keep coming back! Prices are super reasonable too!Services: Manicure
AWESOME experience, friendly staff positive atmosphere. I went there based off a recommendation from hotel staff. They were correct it’s great. The chairs are positioned towards tv playing music videos. Nice change from others that have them across from each other and you’re forced to see someone else getting a pedicure. I’ll definitely be a regular, support locally owned business.Service: Pedicure
Lynn is the most meticulous at doing nails. Her work is absolutely amazing!! She went above and beyond to fit me in for a fill and stayed late to finish. She did not rush and I even got a mini hand massage even though the salon was closed. If you want an amazing set of nails, definitely go to Jacks in Airdrie. I will not go anywhere else
Went to Jack's on Sunday with my mom and sister as they had good a rating. My mom and I just got a shellac colour change and the results were lumpy. My sister got a shellac manicure and not only was it crazy bumpy, the shape is not good, and it has already chipped in two days. Very disappointed.
Cassidy did a wonderful job doing my lash extensions, she is an amazing esthetician. She made me feel very welcomed and she took me through the entire process. I definitely recommend her! plus the atmosphere is lovely.Service: Eyelash extensions
