We were heading home from Portland to Vancouver, BC last Saturday. We left at 6:30am to miss the afternoon traffic heading north. We were thinking of places to grab breakfast at a fast food place. I found the closest Jack in the Box along I-5. They were closed for dine in which we thought it was odd in August 2022. So we had to use drive thru. We ate in the car in their parking lot. I had the grilled sourdough swiss sandwich with unsweetened ice tea. Hubby had the supreme croissant. Yum! It was also nice to expand my cup holder to hold two sandwiches and drink
Omg! We were ordering a lot of food for take out. I needed to use the restroom. When I was in the store there was a lady yelling at me “going out restroom right now” I had tell her we ordered and waited for food she said “doesn’t matter” . She LOCKED the door after that, I meant, this is Fk RACIST…… we will never come back…so shame for them losing customers don’t know how to MANNER
Tonight was probably the worst time at this Jacksbox took 45min to get through the drive-thru. Also they never have milkshake! Sad! And my grilled sandwich was not even grilled not a good late-night food callFood: 1/5
Better than average Jack but severely understaffed. Not sure if that’s a corporate issue or a local employment issue. Staff was friendly and helpful despite being work stressed. I’m not typically a fast food person but burgers here are decent and there are other choices for non-burger people.Recommended dishesBurger
Left this review on Yelp also but it’s worth repeating Sarah G. has LITERALLY made the Jack in the Box experience for me. As the former son of Jack in the Box upper, upper corporate and franchise management, I can say that I look for qualities in employees that work for my father’s old company. She exhibits the care and customer service level that I was taught that anyone in customer service should exhibit. She goes out of her way to make each visit an excellent one and it really shows. Seriously, I have been completely impressed every time and, as a business manager myself, I can honestly say that I wish all employees were like her. PROMOTE HER, give her a raise, do something… Sarah G. is an incredible human being and the best worker I’ve seen at this company in a very, very long time honestly, probably since I was a kid. Thank you, Sarah.
Edit* 2-14-23 Ice machine is fixed but now they aren't able to offer carbonated sodas. Was only diet a couple weeks ago, now it's all sodas. .............. Never seem to have an issue with the demeanor of the staff; they're always friendly and communicative. We always seem to have an issue with items being in stock - they are usually out of at least one thing we order. Also, their ice. I swear, the past 6 months they have not had ice which means the soda is warm and flat. If the staff was set up for success, I'm sure this would turn into a very successful location.
It varies on what crew you get. Some young lady was rude and condescending as heck. The next visit was at a different time and it was like a 5 star restaurant! The difference in drive through service was palpable. Like a professional boxing match for a title vs. what you see when you're in flight and two "Karen's" start calling eachother names. I think the best crew is in the morning.
This Jack in the box is mostly easy to access in the same complex as Safeway. They can be hit and miss for service and wait times in Drive-Thru. They can also be hit and miss on their supply to serve their entire menu. Considering the menu it could almost be understandable for specialty or limited items, but they should always have ample supply of long time regular items. Several times I've stopped in they've been out of their tacos. Their regular tacos have been a staple value menu junk snack for decades so I'm not sure how it's ever excusable to be out of them. It's still fast food & we all need to manage our fast food expectations. However, fast food is more expensive than ever so some basic exoectations shouldn't be unreasonable. Take it for what it is.
I’ve gone here three nights in a row at 11:40pm just to be told they are closed. The hours say they are open till midnight some days and 24 hours others. Tonight it says 24 hours and the guy at the ordering screen just said “door dash or Uber?” I said I was just putting a order in and he said “sorry we are closed”. I know this isn’t his fault because the the area manger or the gm should update the open and closed times. I really wonder why they can’t get people to work for them when they can’t even do that. Update: Wendy’s across the street is open till 1am so needless to say I’ll be going there from now on.
Your typical Jack in the Box quality food, which is so much better after a night of drinking, lol. But the order take was friendly and very polite, which has been hit or miss with a lot of the local fast food places lately.Food: 4/5
