Instead of 1 star, only giving 2 stars because I believe that the food is probably good since I follow them on Instagram and reviews seem positive overall. But below is my actual review from my experience… We traveled from North York on a Tuesday to pick up 4 falafels for dinner their daily special and were excited to try it out after following them on Instagram for so long without trying their food. Note - the drive was over 45 minutes one way. We arrived at the food counter at 7:31pm and the guy working behind the counter said sorry, we’re closed, we close at 7:30. Google hours, as well as the hours on the door clearly state 8pm as the closing time. I said we are literally one minute after 7:30, and just wanted to order 4 falafel sandwiches, nothing else. He laughed, pointed at the shawarma stands, and said “Do you see any food?”. His attitude just made it that much worse and put us off completely. Anyways we went to our usual shawarma/falafel spot in Scarborough after this which never disappoints, but still a totally unfortunate visit to Jabel and the attitude of the guy working made it worse. We were so excited to finally try this place out. Anyways, I still put 2 stars because I feel like the food is likely decent and didn’t feel right putting 1 star just because of that experience.
They now carry KDD Chocolate, strawberry milk and Mango juice.They also have KDD tomato paste and cream.I have not seen KDD products in the GTA before! Must try!Food: 4/5
Very nice and clean grocery store with Halal food. I tried their chicken and beef shawarma. Taste was so good! Customer service was good.

The store appears to carry a rich pallet of arabic snacks, sweets, products and more. I had tried ordering delivery of their shawarma a few times before and it was better than most shawarma specific joints, however on this weekend's in-person visit the shawarma I bought was over cooked and dry. Maybe they have less orders on weekends, leaving the shawarma heated longer than usual. It is so hard to get a decent and authentic tasting shawarma anywhere in the Durham region but I was in the mood for shawarma so I decided to try Jabel Fine Foods a try. I was not disappointed. I was impressed by the taste/quality as well as the meat ratio in the wrap itself : We got a platter of about 3 shawarmas cut up with fries and some sides including hummus, garlic sauce and pickles. Definitely will keep going there for shawarma and looking forward trying their kaftas and bbq items.
The care the lady showed while preparing my chicken Shawarma, I was impressed. On Monday you can get 2 chicken shawarma at $9.99! The meat was juicy and the vegetables were fresh. Shawarma at its best!
Ordered the chicken shawerma family Platter and beef shawerma family platter to celebrate my moms bday...and what an amazing meal! Jabel fine foods has not disappointed even once since I discovered that place based off a FB group review recommendation a few weeks back, and today was no exception. Huge portions, amazing taste, tender and delicious meat in the sandwiches, with a side of pickles, fries and garlic sauce.
If you want to eat the best shawarma in a durham, come here to Jabel Fine Foods. Thank you for the service, Chef Anas.
Came here to check it out since it’s a new place and I love Mediterranean food. I order the falafel with the Saj bread and it was pretty good. Plus the owner of the place is super friendly. They also have grocery items that you can purchase.
