J.J.’s Dockside Restaurant & Tavern

We made reservations for a birthday. The staff seemed surprised when we showed up, and they had to ready a table for us. The sever was nice, but VERY slow. It was Tuesday and not a busy night. He took our orders and served the food, but never checked on us or offered refills on drinks. Food was good, but it was basic bar food, nothing special. Ended up finishing our evening at the Corner Bar.

If zero stars would have been an option, that would have been more fitting than 1 star. What a disappointment! The staff was more interested in what was going on with their phones than paying customers. The food was terrible. I ordered a burger rare and it came out like a hockey puck and was very dry. The service was slow and you had to ask for another drink after the bartender would walk by several times on her way to check her phone. I even observed tables waving their servers down trying to get their servers attention away from chit-chatting with other servers or their friends visiting. This place won't last long with the current staff they have! Head next door to the Green Mill is you want great service, and polite employees!

I was so excited to find out they had Grainbelt's State Fair Blueberry beer on tap! The service was excellent! Gabby was our server and was so helpful, courteous and gave us advice on menu items. To date, it was the best service I've had there. We sat on their patio and it overlooks Lake Bemidji, just a beautiful night and sunset. Great place to take friends from out of town!!

Friendly wait staff. Enjoyable atmosphere. Mostly good food. Recommend you try it!

Thankfully we had the band book because without the $12 off coupon I would have been ticked. Atmosphere was nice, service was average, and the presentation was ok. However the quality and flavors were severely disappointing. The meal would have been $35 before tip which is alot money that spent at any of the local joints would have provided exceptionally better food.
