This was by far the best chicken I've ever had. Basic recipes with outstanding flavors home made sides were so mouthwatering. Homemade chicken noodle soup, biskets, mash potatoes and gravy. We will be back!! Service was perfect. So friendly and nice prices were very good. I can't say enough about this place. Atmosphere had an old grandma's house feel very clean and old school look. It's been difficult to find good fried chicken. Iva's was beyond great. I'm very impressed with there menu selections and beer wine and cocktail choices. I'll make this a regular stop while in this area.
Amazing fried chicken & sides! All the different chicken pieces in our dinners were cooked perfectly, the stuffing was awesome. Loved the biscuits & mashed potatoes and gravy. A great place to eat in or get a to go meal.
Amazingly good, unpretentious and a great value. I cannot find enough good things to say other than to go there now. The family style is more than enough to satisfy everyone in the party. Delicious soup, delicious sides and real fried chicken. This will be something to look forward to each and every year while on vacation. 07/13/22 Update: Oh it's been a year, spending the last few days waiting for them to open was more than worth it. The best dinner I've had in a year. Everything was delicious as expected. From the chicken noodle soup and assorted relish to the proper fried chicken and sides. I could drink a gallon of the gravy and eat a family bowl of dressing and still be happy to leave 5 stars. Kid-friendliness: Nuggets for the picky ones. Wings and drums for the bigger kids. Parking: Tons of available spots across from the entrance for all types of vehicles. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up the main entrance.
We first visited on our honeymoon and now make the 260 mile round trip 2 to 3 times a year. Famuly owned with the best chicken I ever tasted.
Wonderful classic chicken dinners at Iva's have become a tradition for us when in the area! Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed! Family style dinners are wonderful, and the luncheon plate is more than enough complete with homemade coleslaw and biscuits.
I can't say enough great things about Iva's the chicken is fantastic, and the dressing is phenomenal, the old school charm of this establishment just adds to a priceless meal. The waitress was so nice and very attentive,we not only ate lunch but also took chicken and dressing home.
The staff was friendly. The food was very good and homemade. The portions are very generous. I ordered the luncheon platter and I couldn't finish it all. Parking: Plenty of parking spots to the front and sides of the building Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is a ramp so it's very wheelchair accessible.
We saw a sign for this restaurant on the way up North and since we were looking for a place to eat, we decided to stop in! I got a luncheon plate and it was overflowing! I got the stewed chicken and it was very tasty! It does come covered in gravy, so if you're looking for a healthier meal, make sure to order it without the gravy. They don't have a dedicated kids meal section, but they do offer kids portions on certain meals and they also have chicken nuggets with fries.
Great place and first time customer. This was ranked 3rd best fried chicken in the state by mlive a year ago so had to try it. I got the chicken dinner platter and everything minus the cottage cheese seemed homemade and excellent. Staff was friendly and place had a very home-like atmosphere. I feel I should mention there was a biscuit and soup included as well. But those and the bite on my drumstick occured before I could restrain myself for the picture.
Rob and I took a small adventure today. He loves little mom and pop restaurants that are out on the beaten path. Iva's Chicken Dinners was so quaint, it felt like Grandma's house. In the 1930s Iva had a boarding house for the Gas and Oil workers. The word spread about her amazing chicken dinners and 3 generations later they are still serving it up in a home like atmosphere. They close on October 31st for a winter long rest. Kid-friendliness: Homestyle cooking Parking: Large parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp available Dietary restrictions: Boiled chicken is available.
