After being robbed of many valuable items, the Officer investigating the case told me to check pawn shops and other resale stores for my stolen jewelry. I called many local business and all were extremely sympathetic and extremely helpful. But when I called Ithaca Coin the owner was rude, insensitive and absolutely unwilling to do anything to help me. It could only lead me to conclude that this place deals with crooks and is likewise disreputable. He'll protect himself and those who steal and sell to him. Be forewarned that he is probably going to take advantage of any honest person wanting to sell their valuables. Move on and find a decent merchant.

I am writing in regards to the review that was left by a women that called our shop, and is posted above. This women called and told us that her home was broken into and that the police department told her to call and ask us to give her information about our customers. She wanted us to go into our data base and tell her who has sold us items in the last week of doing business. Our customers privacy is very important to us. For her to expect us to give personal information to someone other than a law enforcement officer would not be in anyone's best interest. I can not believe that any person with half a mind would think that we would give personal information over the phone or in person to anyone except the police departments. This women was very, very, rude. She should be ashamed of the way she spoke to me, and also ashamed for trying to destroy a local business that has been in the same location in Ithaca for over 26 years. We are one of the few companies in Ithaca that take government issued ID's and make copies that are kept in a data base, to help law enforcement agencies. These agencies have full access to these records. We have aided the police in solving many crimes in our community.
