I called this morning. Tree that uprooted from winds fell onto another tree that happened above our power pole and lines. With upcoming holiday weekend and kids coming the fear of the down tree falling onto the power line/ pole was a bit worry some. Called and spoke with Shanna at Itasca Mantrap this morning. I sent her pictures and she was absolutely great to work with on the phone. Didn't expect the guys to come today!! Kevin and his coworker didn't get his name sorry were absolutely FANTASTIC!! Thank you everyone at Itasca Mantrap for helping keeping us safe! You guys are all so much appreciated!! Happy customer!!! :
By far the worst electric company that I have been a part of and we have no other choice than to get our power from them due to the location that we live in. In the last three years I have had nothing but problems with power flashing on and off and complete outages when the weather is not even a driving factor and this happens multiple times a month. They converted a lot of the utilities to underground and still have a horrible infrastructure. Not sure what to do at this point other than look at a new location out of their region.
$47.60 a month to have basic electricity for my seasonal, 1 bedroom cabin. I pay 2 - 3 times that in the summer when we actually use the service to run a refrigerator and lights. That's more than we pay for an air conditioned, 4 bedroom house in Minneapolis. I wish we had options other than a gas generator.
Without even so much as a phone call they ripped up our yard, cut through our septic system in three places, and never even told us. Only because I had a trail cam did they admit "we should have probably told you". Their service is awful and their response was the most unprofessional experience I've had. Not once have they even expressed any understanding let alone an interest in making it right. They also squash anyone who points that out. There was even a time a tree was down on their equipment and unlike any other power company in the country they didn't feel the need to clear it! They should be embarrassed, I'd say ashamed but they clearly have no shame.
Everything you are reading in these reviews is true. Hideously overpriced, but no other options. And they KNOW there are no other options so they continue to gouge the customers. Sure wish there was somewhere else to get our power from. We, along with so many others, would be gone in a matter of seconds
I’ve been all over the country. But in one year I’ve had my power go out more than the rest of my life. They are the worst power company I’ve seen!
Base fee is extortion. $40.00 a month for nothing and still going up. Why are we forced to pay for their so called charities? Another way of giving it to the cabin owners who already pay for EVERYTHING in Hubbard county. Thanks for all the “FREE” dinners, especially when there on a Thursday evening when all the cabin owners are busy working to pay for the “FREE” dinners for the local deadbeats... P.S. Nice lawn...
Power charge per kw is high, does not cater to people with seasonal cabins, and when power outages occur: no way to get a human on the phone and only a generic map that shows power outages.... Step your game up Mantrap Coop!
Super expensive compared to others in area. We have no choice to change. Bad service, very unforgiving with bill, I used to pay early just in case I forgot as this is one bill you don't want to be late!
Having a power outage and couldnt give any estimate on when it will be back on. I find that hard since they know where the crews are working. Also the map still has yet to show any crews were working.
