My wife and daughter hosted my 50th here this past weekend. Chicken Pasta lunch was great. The Bocce Ball thereafter was a lot of fun and completely unexpected for our guests who figured we'd be rolling balls on the carpet. Courts were awesome. Staff was gracious and kind. I'd recommend a restroom update, or at least deep clean.
I recently attended a wedding for my family at this venue. The atmosphere was great and everything was running smoothly, until the venue booked a loud dance event next door without notifying anybody. The food was also very cold when it got to the table. If another event is scheduled, the other renters should be notified and be respectful of others.
Nice place. Food was good. Restrooms were messy at times even though the cleaning staff tried to keep up. Might have been due to some clientele.
Honestly not impressed at all. Went to a Christmas party there last weekend and the food was not good. The pasta course red sauce tasted like it was out of a can and weirdly sweet. Bizarre from the ITALIAN Canadian club. The chicken parmesan had rubbery cheese and tasted like it had sat warming for hours. The roast beef was just sliced meat like you'd have on a sandwich!? Basically served cold with some gravy poured over it. And the cheesecake was awful. Didn't even taste like cheesecake. The Caesar salad was good though! We also had had our Christmas party there last year and it wasn't much better... I thought maybe they were having an off night but I guess not. Oh and most of the servers looked MISERABLE. Just slapping the food down in front of you lol. So there's that.nI would never want to book an event here personally, unless you want to serve your guests the typical sub par rubber chicken some banquet halls are known for! Would never in a million years want my wedding reception here. I'd be embarrassed if they were served food like that honestly. And such miserable servers. No thanks. So many other, better, event venue options in Guelph and nearby these days. Hope they improve their food quality.nI know it's hard to serve good food to large groups, but isn't that what they have been doing for 40+ years? Having grown up in Guelph this place is kind of a famous event venue, but I think it must have really gone downhill from its heyday! I have a feeling it's their history that's keeping them alive. I hope my company books a different venue next year!
I dined at the Italian club having high expectations from the reviews. When we arrived we waited about 10 minutes to be greeted, we were told our table was given away and had to wait for another to be cleared. The greeter was pretty rude. We were then sat and waited 25 minutes to get our order for food and drinks taken. Our food then came 40 minutes later. Our food was great. This is the tiger prawn pasta. Someone did not check on us until our food was done and then waited another 20 minutes for bill to pay. Food was good for takeout but I don't think I'd go back unfortunately.
