I can’t recommend enough this place. Best value ever; food is great. We shared goat, pork and chicken options; meals include rice which for three people you can see how much that was. Service is also great; people are very friendly and helpful, when I asked for recommendations they actually gave us pretty good feedback on the different meals they offered. Mango juice tastes pretty good, very refreshing with this combination of flavors. Plus: they gave us three little wraps as a house gift. Everything for the best price we’ve found in Toronto. Definitely recommend to come here, I look forward to comeback.
My go to place without a doubt for wraps! But tonight we switched it up based off the recommendation of the lady who served me. Zero regrets! Amazing food; everything was perfect. Best East African restaurant in Toronto!
The pictures wrap vs plate no it justice as taste is 10 stars . However, the the best of the best freshly cooked food globally that I eat. I was just visiting for a conference for the weekend from Ottawa. This now easily part of my religious eating practice in Toronto
Food is fresh qnd amazing, cost effective, i had goat meat, barbeque bewf ribs and also egg with salmon, they all tasted great. Tea is given compimentary with the meals.
The service here was sweet and staff seems to work very hard. The food was good, but not the best Somali restaurant i’ve been to in the GTA. The goat was under seasoned and the beef suqaar was slightly overdone and dry. I would suggest going here if you want a decent Somali dining experience. I would personally come here again because I appreciated the service.
Been here a few times! We brought our world traveling friends here Friday night and they LOVED IT. Staff is very friendly and helpful for those not knowing what to do. Portions are generous - we got the dinner plate which is a combination of various rices and vegetables plus your choice of 2 meats. While I’ve not ordered it there is a steady stream of clients getting the wraps which are huge. This place doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not - it is a 24 hour diner Somali style and clearly a local favourite. But for anyone wanting a departure from the standard food along the airport restaurant strip this is a unique experience. And the quality of food is high - the salmon is amazing. You can’t help but feel like you’ve lived a bit and stepped out of your culinary comfort zone once you are done.
Since I was a kid and still to this day, my mom would always get me and my siblings these big juicy wraps that were hard to finish but super tasty. But without a doubt, the mango drink they serve is my absolute favorite. Inshallah your business will grow bigger than ever.
I was in the area for quick lunch. after opened their door, I started lost a bit already, staffs were talking, cleaning, in and out the kitchen area, place smells like floor cleaner solution, not a hint of food smell. I was standing at the food with no staff comming and offers help. asking for a menu, they said they don't have one. background is covered with black curtain, no price or picture to see. place looks like a pop up restaurant has nothing that attract me from coming back. end up ordering rice with chicken that doesn't taste good. - 2 star for the quantity of food that cost $15.81
My passion is to taste a different food I've never tasted before and a visit to a new restaurant. I visited this restaurant IStar Somali Cuisine when I was in this area. basically one of the restaurants which is open 24/7. Good customer service. Hailing from India, I could relate this Somalian food to my food. The lamb steak was their famous dish and it was at its best. The combo though compared to other Places, it was little pricey but justifies the quantity. I had packed the left over for next day's lunch. The lady over there was kind enough to treat me with another type meat to taste which i did not order at all. The combo comes with two types meatchicken/Beef/lamb with potatoes, salad and special rice mixed with raisins and spices. The beef samosas tasted at its peak. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all nationalities you can handle the spice. They have breakfast options too.
Beside the foods are good I like the staffs. And they showed how generous this place. But today I feel not an ease about generosity. I like the evening staffs very much. I felt bad remember about today.
