So vast. Go there often yet still discover new hikes. Just a couple weeks ago followed snowmobile tracks for just less than mile from cabins and came out to Spring Mill Pond. From there went left and got on Blue Trail back to cabins. Perfect.
This is a fantastic state park. Whatever your outdoor pleasure, you will find it here: hiking, biking, canoeing, swimming, or just admiring sand hill cranes. I've traveled a few dozen countries and all 50 states, but I've only seen sand hill cranes twice in my life. This is one.
We always love visiting Island Lake. There are a plethora of activities available. We especially enjoy hiking the nature trails, which are well maintained.
Great place for a Fall bike ride. Both paved and dirt bike trails. Ive even brought my family the past past 2 years on a warm-ish December day.
Large park with great bike trail. A couple of beaches a playground and a great creek to explore. Meet upvthere with kids 5 and 7. They had a fulfilled day.
Really nice place to go and relax. Good place to take the family. Take some friends.
Lovely place to walk your dog. Word of caution: more than any other park I've been to in the area, many people have their dogs off leash here. It is not permitted.
I've really only used the Bike trail here and I liked it a lot.
