Shane is AWESOME! Customer service and super helpful..pairs you with the right people with coming in alone to golf. Ryan and all staff are outstanding! This course is super amazing!! Come all the time, love LOVE IT!!
A nice par three course with a driving range. A forgiving course. Lots of programs for kids just learning how to play. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Some of the patrons are disrespectful and fail to fix their divets. There are golf carts available. You can book tee times online or by phone. Walk ins are welcome.
Played here dozens of times. Friendly staff great prices and the best variety of challenging holes for a 9 hole in the twin cities. Doesn't hurt I can eat five guys after. I can't recommend this place enough. The absolute most chill golf course. Vibes are immaculate. Sweet driving range and they are refinishing their putt putt course. Great place for all ages and skill levels. Will always have a special place in my heart. Awesome staff Great maintenance Beautiful nature turtles, frogs, herons, etc. Adjacent to fives guys.
My kids enjoy taking golf lessons here. Well maintained and friendly staff.
I like the course, range and mini golf. All are nice, as is the staff. I just don’t feel the pricing is a good value for what you get compared to nearby facilities
Par 3 course with decent rates. The roughs are very thick, the fairways are a decent length for hitting from but have little run, the greens are very slow and flat. The only issue I had was a patron issue - most greens had dozens of dents from disrespectful golfers. Overall it was a decent experience.
Decent driving range and the course is in good shape and fun to play for such a short course.
I've played here a number of times over the years, but went back over the weekend to play again. In my opinion, this course is about as average as it gets. I'm giving a rating of three stars because: 1. The course is short. I know this is a Par 3 course, and by definition all the holes are going to be short. With the exception of the 9th hole, the average distance is somewhere around 120-130 yards. Which is fine! But a couple of holes had a total distance of 80-90 yards. This is very short, and for my taste and ability level not as enjoyable. 2. The other golfers here are problematic. Sorry, I know it's not really fair to ding a course rating based on the players, but this needs to be mentioned. And honestly, this has no impact on my overall review - I just want to mention it for other golfers who might be looking for honest feedback. If you go here at a reasonably busy time, expect to wait. We a twosome kept pace with play in front of us - all of whom were in carts. Yes, people drive carts on this course. No, I don't understand it either. It got so bad when we played that we had to ask the guy in front of us to stop playing 3-4 balls every hole. There is NO respect or etiquette here. Just be warned. 3. The driving range is fair, and fairly priced. A small bucket of 25 balls was $5.50, which I found to be in line with other prices at other places. The grass was pretty beat up, but by this point in the season it's not unusual. 4. Other than that, the course was OK. Greens were fairly well maintained. Compared to other Par 3 courses in the metro area, this was about average in all respects.
This is a great 9 hole course perfect for working on your iron game. The fairways, greens and grounds are all very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great natural barriers separating each hole. I'm usually there while it's busy but I never have felt rushed. Prices are very light on the pocket book. Great for a relaxing day of golf. The course itself is very resplendent. Driving range has mats or grass to choose from and is more than adequate for any golfer. Parking is just fine. I play here 2-4 times a month and have a great experience each time I play this course.
Island Lake is a great place to not only work on your game at the practice range, but also hone in your shorter irons on the executive 9. It's more challenging than most people think and definitely translates into playing better on longer courses. The staff is great, helpful, and courteous. I have also taken lessons there that have helped me improve my game, though I need more.
