An incredibly beautiful and serene conservation park with lots of scenic views. It has a few short trails and one long Vicki Barron Lakeside trail that goes around the lake. The trails are very well kept and marked for easily navigating around. The main trail is great for walking or cycling but if you want to complete the trail, cycling would be a better choice. There are a few benches along the trail where you can take a break in a relaxing environment and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. Canoes and kayak rentals are also available in the park, and you can bring your own as well. The lake is also great to go for fishing, you can also have a picnic in the park and bring your own charcoal BBQ grill. There is an entrance fee of $6.5 per person to enter the park. Overall, a great place for a weekend outing.
beautiful lake area with lots of greenery around and open spaces to spend time and play around. We went as a group of 5 and the ticket counter folks explained everything to us very nicely and politely. Parking was easily available and they have 5 designated spots for parking. All spots have access too nearby spaces where u can play, do BBQ and picnic along-with clean washrooms. There were 3 4 trails and we took the longest trail and it was quite an experience..trails are marked with directions and also has resting areas. Overall a very nice experience here. 5 extra stars for the staff working at the site.
Surrounded by pines trees, stunning footpaths & scenic lookouts, this park is ideal for trail running, cycling or hiking. Amenities near front gate with snack shop & rentals. Ample parking with conservation fees applicable. Even the entrance & exit to the gatehouse is a winding & narrow roadway, lined with gorgeous pine trees on either side. Quiet, quaint & such a delight to the senses! Be prepared for nature amenities on trail hikes and bring refreshments as needed. The waterfront amphitheater is stunning with the lake and forests as the backdrops. With it’s easy access & reasonable park fees, it’s the ideal all year long day trip! Happy trails ‍
Beautiful, peaceful and scenic conservation area. Lots of things to do and picturesque locations - Long boardwalks, lake, arch shaped trees and bridges. Parking is available but I would recommend booking the parking/entry beforehand. Per Person adult fee is $6.50. Multiple parking lots are available. One of the parking lot was offering boat and kayak rentals as well. We spent about 2.5-3 hours hiking the main - Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail which is about 8km long that leads you around the perimeter of the lake. Lots of beautiful scenery and stops to make along the way you. Trail was maintained properly. It was totally worth it. Make sure you bring water and energy drinks with you to stay hydrated. This park also have picnic areas near the lake. You can pack the lunch and enjoy it here. Highly recommend!
Beautiful conservation area with picnic grounds, fishing, canoeing, cycling and other playful activities for kids. Trails are very nice for relaxed walks with friends and family. enough parkings. there is an entry fee per vehicle. Well maintained and clean, no littering anywhere.
The trails are an easy hike with picnic tables as well as option for kayak and bike rental. The fall colors are at peak now and it is beautiful specifically via the many boardwalks. Parking is available on site and payment is required at the gate or alternatively parking at the plaza nearby to take a quick hike.
Lovely little place for a weekend picnic and day by the water. You can bring your own kayak etc. Some really good trails with simple to intermediate difficulty levels, no climb though. If you have the time, I would recommend taking the longer trail to the boardwalk at three back of the park.
It was nice, but lots and lots of people. Some walked the boardwalk with radios and ruined it for people, like me, who wanted to capture nature and be in that kind of surroundings. Loud music was very annoying. Perhaps the park can place a rule to NOT have music playing so loudly or not at all on the walking path. I hate that we have to pay to enter the grounds but understand the fee due to the massive amount of people attending.
We hike the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail on a weekday. It was a well maintained trial. It was not busy. Weather was hot and we enjoy the shaded part of the trial.
Love the long boardwalks surrounding the lake. Prepare enough water for a 8 km walk with changing beautiful lake scenes. Will visit again to see the fall colors for sure.
