Great food, a cool interior, and lovely staff. Parking can be quite difficult to find, and the restaurant gets busy, so I’d recommend booking a table in advance.nnThe only thing I found a little unusual was having several large fans on the floor blowing air around. I’m guessing the AC may not have been strong enough, but it was a bit distracting.nnEverything we ordered was delicious. We really enjoyed the platter and the curry, and you can never go wrong with mango sticky rice. The flat noodles were definitely my favourite, with great flavour and texture. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience and I’d happily come back!
I'm a regular here—love the vibe, love the food. My go-tos are the fire-grilled short ribs, sizzling seafood pad gra prao, crab fried rice with omelette, and the appetizer platter to start. Also highly recommend the curry beef ribs with pineapple fried rice—such a perfect combo. Always end with the mango coconut sticky rice, so good.nnAnd their mocktails? Absolutely obsessed. Pink Lotus Blossom, Mangolicious, Isaander Sunrise—every single one is amazing.nnGreat food, great drinks, great atmosphere. I'll keep coming back for sure!
I’ve passed by this Thai restaurant in Richmond Hill, and I decided to check it out. The restaurant was quite spacious and the interior had a sport bar vibe to it. I ordered just a few items to try:nnAppetizer Platter for 2 $26.50nFeaturing calamari, golden bags, Thong Pong Grob, Ma Hor, shrimp cake and mango salad.nnCrab Fried Rice with Omelette $33nA fragrant Thai fried rice with chunks of fresh crab meat. Topped with a rich, buttery sole scrambled eggs and served with house seafood sauce.nnOverall, nothing stood out to me in this restaurant. It feels like Thai food made for people who aren’t used to Thai food. No strong flavours, not really authentic, nothing too skillful in terms of cooking. The appetizer platter was a good deal because you get to taste a lot, but everything was very mid to me. The crab fried rice is expensive because it contains real crab, but it just tastes like regular fried rice you’d make at home, only elevated by the ingredient of crab.nnA good aspect of this restaurant was that service was very good and knowledgable; they explained each food item in depth.
A good dining experience perhaps a bit impacted by the super hot day going on outside. Noodle soup and fried food was probably not the best choice so I’ll have to come back another time! I thought the service and ambiance was good, while the prices were a bit high for the Richmond Hill area. I may try a curry next time as I didn’t love any of the dishes that we ordered - nothing made me go “wow”. For these prices I did expect a bit more wow factor!

We started with the Khao Soi, and it was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The curry broth was rich, aromatic, and had that perfect depth of spice that warms you up without being overwhelming. The contrast between the tender noodles and the crispy nest on top was spot on. We also tried the Som Tum Papaya Salad, which was incredibly fresh, packing that signature punch of lime, chili, and garlic that defines great Isaan cuisine.nWhat really sets this place apart, though, is the service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. They were happy to provide recommendations and ensured our spice levels were exactly where we wanted them. Even during a busy evening rush, our drinks were topped up and the courses arrived perfectly timed.nThe bar program also deserves a shoutout—their signature cocktails are creative and incorporate Thai ingredients like lemongrass and ginger, which paired beautifully with the heat of the food.nIsaan Der is a gem that brings authentic soul to the local food scene. I’ll definitely be returning soon to work my way through the rest of the menu!
