Love!!! Its a great homely place on the irish loop. We were thinking of stopping for brunch and almost stopped at Tim Hortons instead of this place!! Its a small restaurant with limited sitting. Patio was not open when we visited in June but I hope they opened it now! The place was busy with lots of people coming with reservations. We did not have one so had to wait 10-15 mins which was no issues. Food was fresh and made perfectly!!! These are the best fish cakes I have had and the cinnamon bread pudding was out of the world!!
Premium quality tasting food and beverage with lovely service! Dining area was decorated with an unexpected variety of colors and patterns that actually worked very well together and was pleasing to the eyes. Tea was delivered to our table in mismatched kettles and tea cups which was fun and stylish. The menu had plenty of appealing options for a variety of diets including vegetarian. I chose a simple avocado with tomato on ciabatta; it was tasty. It came with a balsamic vinegatette and 1 slice of orange. I would've liked more orange slices or a small mixed fruit cup but that's not a complaint just a suggestion. With that said, the portion of ciabatta was quite filling enough for me regardless. The price was fair. The Coffee House offered an amazing view of the ocean where whales sometimes visit in that location. It also includes an outdoor patio. They offer other services such as B&B and public shower service for fantastic prices which you cam find on their website. Wonderful services which could be taken advantage of by backpackers and hikers on the nearby East Coast Trail. Will certainly go again and share with friends about this delightful place.
Fantastic food, delicious desserts and incredibly friendly staff. This is an absolutely charming experience and one of the hidden gems outside the city.Food: 5/5
Cute little spot with amazing views. Great, friendly service. Food was good- the fish cakes were amazing and the bread pudding was absolutely delicious!! The mac and cheese was good, if slightly bland.
The "Fork." evening restaurant is just fantastic. Beautiful, relaxing setting in Witless Bay; a surprising setting for upscale dining. Fresh local flavours presented in delicious and unique ways. Service was of course delightful and attentive, and the cocktails were also great. My only real nitpick is that the odd addition of popcorn to the scallop seviche was a bit tacky and unnecessary, but otherwise all of the food was just delicious and quite skillfully prepared. Portion sizes were just right not for people who like large portions, and the menu was pleasantly small, with some really creative dishes that I actually haven't seen many or any other places in NL. Seems the chefs are really trying to be creative with some very common local ingredients. Overall, this is absolutely a place I would recommend to anyone for a nice upscale dinner, in a downhome setting. Not cheap, but worth it.
A nice little cafe on the side of the highway. From the outside looking in one would not expect an establishment that makes all baked goods from scratch, nor a ace that serves a decent ate of home fries. Don't judge a book by its cover! We tried a variety of desserts from tarts to cheesecakes and they were all quite serviceable. They even use local ingredients like bakeapple to give its fare that local taste.
Loved the food here. Not far from the excellent Whale Guest House, we stopped in for a late breakfast. Staff were very friendly, food was delicious and the prices were excellent! We both loved the home made food, which was quite the treat! Highly recommend stopping in here when in Witless Bay for a little breakfast or lunch before seeing the rest of the Irish Loop. Playing cards were on the tables to keep us busy while waiting, which was a great touch, especially for families with kids who wanted to keep them entertained and unplugged. The view is amazing too!
Setting was lovely! Service was good. Had tea and a scone with partridge berry jam. A slightly bigger scone and more jam would have been nice! But it tasted delicious, so that was good. A nice full menu. I might try one of their bread puddings the next time!
Stop here and eat food here! This is a must! I had a Brie Bacon Croissant and goat cheese cheese cake. They were both fantastic! The people who were eating there were friendly. The staff there were friendly. Just stop here and eat need I say more?
Nice little place. Didn't eat here just got a tea but the menu looked good. Gorgeous views and super nice accommodating owners.
