Irene was a perfect conclusion for my evening walk. I was super delighted to learn that this restaurant just opened its doors. We were greeted by super friendly hostesses & they were able to find us a perfect table with a beautiful view even without us making reservation. Though I highly recommend to call in advance, because I see how busy this place is. Food is fresh and beautifully presented. All the flavors are there. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that my Tuna was missing one important ingredient - cashews - and I believe that just shouldn't happen. Focaccia was super great & homemade butter was a perfect addition to it. We received great Customer service! Great job, Irene! Wonderful birthday dinner to celebrate a friend. They were able to accommodate our large group. Our server was excellent! Very attentive and very impressed she got everyone’s orders straight. Food was delicious and came out quickly and fresh from the kitchen. Great view too! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free
We had high expectations for this place, seeing the reviews by others. We were not disappointed. Service was welcoming and friendly, food delicious. Presentation wonderful. I did expect more from the truffle French fries though, but maybe its just me. Overall a pleasant experience.
Our waitstaff, Kelsey, provided exceptional service and the food was delicious. The manager Nas was also very hospitable and accommodating. This location is know for its gorgeous outside patio on the lake, but the newly renovated inside is absolutely gorgeous also and the wall of windows also provide a lovely view of the lake.
If you are looking for a nice spot by the water to eat, then this is the place. On the quieter end of harbourfront this is the place to be. The food exceeded our expectation they tasted amazing the same way they looked. The servers were kind and quick to help. Honestly got to go back.Food: 5/5
The place is located right next to the waterfront and the vibe is pretty amazing. We sat on the patio and depending on the size of the group and availability, you may be seated on the couches instead of regular tables which is great. They have happy hours from 2-5 and 9-11 pm with the last call at around 10:30 pm. There are many vegetarian options and a decent selection of drinks. I tried their Nasi Goreng and it was delicious. Their service was a little disappointing. It was slow and the server messed up the check at the end, not once but two times. To their credit they fixed the check swiftly. I'd happily come back here.
Perfect spot for celebrating a birthday brunch with friends. Food, drinks and service were lovely. What a little gem to be located right by the water with a lively patio that is also dog friendly. Big shoutout to Jon for treating us to a complimentary Baked Alaska dessert. Overall, would recommend to check out this summer!Food: 4/5
We had a lovely time here, came in Canada Day! The server was really friendly and attentive! The food was good, I recommend that you come sit on the patio enjoy the view, the only thing we didn’t love was the truffle fries!Food: 4/5
My daughter and I wanted to dine al fresco by the water. We decided to give Irene a try. We ordered a 1/2 dozen oysters to start - only had one type, raspberry point from PEI. Oysters were not shucked properly i.e. they were stuck to the shell and a few oysters contained tiny bits of shell. I ordered a Caesar salad which never came. My daughter ordered the Poke salmon bowl with specific instructions to omit cashews and jalapeño peppers. The kitchen ignored that request. Her bowl only had a few shreds of Atlantic salmon in it. I ordered the seared duck breast with rosti, puréed carrots and mushrooms/peas - very nice presentation. Duck breast was raw and very chewy; rosti had an awful taste but the carrot purée was excellent. Our server, Daniel, was great it was his first night working alone. He forgot to put in my Caesar salad order thinking I wanted the duck breast instead. Because of our complaints, he offered us a dessert on the house. We selected the chocolate fudge cake slice which was delicious. Overall we found Irene to be overly expensive with food that was subpar. We will not be returning. It’s unfortunate because the location and view is amazing. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs and easy access
Great atmosphere and beautifully decorated large patio with lakefront view. We were served by Nas who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely return!
