Beautiful park with all kind of nature, such as a group of birds flying, sunset seeing, and a long path walkway along with the beautiful water view. Bring your friends, family and your pet is a good spot here for fun and refreshing environment. Airport is close so that you can see the airplane flying off. Cool place must visit! Highly recommended.
Did the full jetty walk. Fabulous sun and air. Thursday early afternoon and very few other folks around. Made it all the way to the end in 45 minutes or so. Enjoyed the vistas, the birds, and the planes. Good workout for walkers. The dog loved it!
Really nice place for a stroll. Takes about 2 1/2 hrs to walk to the end and back. Level ground. Beautiful views and the planes taking off from the airport often. There's a lower walkway where you can ride your bike.Recommended activitiesWalking, Running, Biking, Dog Walking
Beautiful place! It was windy that day so the smell wasn’t bad. Lol Don’t let the smell detour you. The time we went before took my breath away as shown in the pics and it wasn’t windy so there was a sewer-y smell in some of walk way. The walk took as about 3 hours. It was on a nice walkway that is very accessible. There are bathrooms in the beginning middle and end. Also a look out in the beginning and end. Plus a beach and pond to check out, all in walking distance. It’s so nice!
Come here anytime of the year, month, day, low tide, high tide, rain or shine. 8km round trip, flat and easy to walk. Count and identify landing planes, last but not least, mesmerizing sunset. Restrooms: Located near parking lot and at the end of jetty.
I had a goodtime walking along Iona Jetty and watching the airplanes land at Vancouver International Airport nearby. The jetty is also a great place for birdwatching, as there are many species of waterfowl and shorebirds that inhabit the area. I enjoyed listening to their calls and observing their behaviors. The jetty is easy to access by car or bike. I highly recommend this activity for anyone who loves nature and aviation.
Amazing spot to catch sunsets and have unobstructed water views. You can view the YVR and watch all the planes take off. Also a spot to sit or enjoy from your car in the many parking areas. It’s a 8k round trip to get to the point.
Iona Beach awesome place for walking. 2.5 hrs in total back and forth to the middles of the inlet. 8kms of walking. Busy in summer time.
Great trail for walking or biking, nice view along the way. Another attractive thing is that you can see a lot of aircrafts taking off and landing. Can’t wait to go there again
This is a nice walk with an unsurprisingly great ocean view. That fact that your are walking on top of a large sewage pipe does not detract from the scenery one bit. I went recently on a clear night with a full moon, during a wind storm, and it had a very other-worldly feel to it. Once you reach the terminus, there's a platform where you can stand out, over the water, so it really gives you that "at the end of the earth" sensation. If you decide to walk the jetty at night, be advised the the gates to the park will be closed. You'll have to park in front of the sewage treatment plant and walk the rest of the way. Which is fine, because you walk past a pipe that's burning off sewer gas in a 20 foot high plume of flame. It's pretty cool.
