The muffins, baked cookies, cakes, and some other baked foods do not have best before dates. On the actual label of the brand, it says that the best before date is located on the front of the package. Usually it is printed on a little ticket. NOTHING. The manager says it is okay because every two days he takes them off the shelves and replaces them with new batches. At the same time he mentions that the cookies and muffins are good for one month. Oh boy…. I can’t imagine what he does with the meats..
Good prices, variety of produce. Gave 4 for cleanliness and organization of too many items. Sometimes scrambled. Otherwise good to visit and save on items very expensive elsewhere.
I went to Marche Palumbo on Wednesday last day of for Quebec lamb on sale at Marche Palumbo, I took a chance coming from St. Dorothy and wasn't sure if they still had, so I asked the person who was near the meat counter area if their was still any leg of lamb left on sale, he went and checked and said they have, so I asked for 2 leg of lamb total 165$, at first look seemed ok, told me they were just frozen I said fine, I never really looked at the package carefully, until come Saturday when I had to open the package, to start deboning the lamb, it had a little smell, I figured must be the animal blood, as I am opening I noticed a before date on one of the leg of lamb, it read 21oc20 hoping this was from Oct. 20, 2021 and not older, the other one had no sticker so my guess is they had removed it, I also noticed that the vacuum seal was kind of gone. In my opinion they new it was old and tried to pass a quick one, I should of checked the product more carefully, I was in a rush. This questions me on how fresh is there products, and how many customers get passed out of date products. They just lost a customer for selling me something that is already been in there fridge since at least Oct. and if not more. Only way would be for Fontaine Family to verify when was the product sold to Palumbo by the EST466 on the expiry date sticker. Representative contacted me and excused herself on behalf of the store and confirmed with me that there was a print error on the sticker plus she was very friendly and apologetic quite a few times and ensured that they go through lamb quite often as the area where the store was located very ethnic. I was offered gift certificate and was very pleased of the customer service i will go back Store has a nice selection of fruits and vegetables plus cured meats.
Nice grocery store good prices not all but u can find some good ones. Fish is cheap. Looks fresh meat. Is kind of turkish brands.
Nice little market with really good price marinated meat. It is also delicious. Beer is better priced there also! Only thing is it's a small shop and doesn't have everything you would maybe need

This is a great little market that actually sells stuff at a great price. I usually go and pick up veggies and meat from there all the time haven't had a complaint yet. Great job guys keep up the good work!
