Terrible care from occupational therapist Patricia. Kicked her out of my house after she was rude and condescending. She slowed my recover my months. Not worth the money or time. Go to a reputable therapy group.
I would like to preface this review with the following: I reached out to the owner of this company On July 23, 2020 to share my experiences and why I decided to move hospice care to Seasons. It is my impression that the owner listened and is in the process of implementing corrective actions. My story: My sister was discharged into hospice care and the recommendation was Interim. My sister was transported by ambulance on April 15 and the nurse, Jamal Ali, did not bother to come by until the following day. Jamal never sat down with me for an in- home evaluation. After the first week, he started popping in once a week and for a long time never evaluated my sister during this time. At some point, I had to ask him to start looking at her ulcers, and she had several large ones, including one that had a recent surgery. Jamal also completely missed the large ulcer on her backside which I found about two weeks later while changing her brief. My sister came with a catheter and when he pulled it out, he did not bother to remove her brief. He never once took her BP and only took her temp when I asked. I also received a text message from Jamal in error where he texted the following: Did he already have all three monkeys, or just the two? Decide for yourself what monkeys he was referring to. Jamal also seemed to have a weird obsession with my sisters medication. Most of his visits included looking in the bottles even though I requested supplies and meds prior to them running out. I even startled him during his last visit when I found him looking in my sisters pill bottle. On one occasion, I found my sister with her legs dangling off the right side of the bed and Jamal did not offer to send full bed rails. This past Tuesday, I brought concerns forward about my sister’s breathing pattern, and he did not offer oxygen and suggested that it was in her mind. Fast forward, I decided that there were too many red flags and made a change that we are very happy with. I moved my sisters care over to Seasons whom came highly recommended. When I notified Jamal and asked him to bring a transfer of service form, he brought a revocation form. He never looked in my sisters direction and was visibly upset that he was losing a client. Jamal refused to provide the transfer form. These are just some of the awful experiences that I had. There are a ton more. Seasons in contrast spent a total of 8 hours with us on day one because my sister was in such bad shape. The nurse completely examined my sisters body and measured her ulcers. She even took time to rub my sisters chest and throat to help bring up the phlegm. They Walked me through a lot of information and left the appropriate liquid meds because the pills had become to difficult for her to swallow. Before they left, I had oxygen and a suction machine. My sister had not slept that well in days. The next day an aid came to bathe my sister and supplies were delivered. Later on the second day, a case manager and coordinator arrived and spent several more hours with us. The nurse changed all her bandages, took vitals, and further educated me. Today, I received meds via Fedex, so no worries about folks showing up without masks and gloves. Next week my sister will began music therapy. Please don’t make the mistake that I did. My advice is to research. Research. Research. Jamal is not a good nurse and was waiting for my sister to die, essentially. I was a nuisance to him once I started requesting things that should have been offered from the gate. Do not fall for his fast talking. Empathy is not part of his true character. SUBSTANDARD CARE. Please look out for your loved ones. While I do not recommend Interim, I highly recommend Seasons. Good luck everyone.
