Finally, a good maritime school! Having experienced another maritime college, I can say with absolute certainty that IMQ is the best maritime school I've ever attended, by far. Motivating professors who know their subject matter very well, interesting courses that promote student learning in a school environment focused on student success, not the institution's reputation. While it's not free, the registration fees and textbook prices are very reasonable, and the city of Rimouski is a great place to have a balanced student life, not too far from home. I highly recommend this school if you're interested in the maritime field.
Worst school for naval architecture. One professor who barely speaks French to teach AutoCAD and another who reeks of alcohol for technical drawing.nJanus Binkevich had the students vote by a show of hands on whether he should grade my term paper, given that he wasn't able to get the plans printed by the official due date, something that was very easy for me to do the next day. In short... A school that needs enrollment for the money, but given the job openings in the field, a major round of layoffs is expected. 30 architecture students in the first year, for a total of 3 graduates 3 years later and 1 currently working. The cafeteria is great, and I have no doubt that the other fields of study are very good, but architecture is a big zero, a dream that sank. Don't be fooled, save your time and money.
A school recognized worldwide for the quality of its maritime education. A training ground that has produced some of the greatest maritime pilots.
