Ingersoll Cheese Factory and Museum
"Opened in 1977, the museum tells the story of a town built on cheese, and why Oxford County is the Dairy Capital of Canada. A replica 19th C. factory details the historical methods of making cheese and provides plenty of photo opportunities! You will soon discover why we are the hub of the Oxford Cheese Trail! Also site of the Oxford County Museum School, Sports Hall of Fame, and a Cheese Playground! Locally produced cheeses are sold in the gift shop. The museum is more than just cheese. You will be amazed by the woodcarvings of the late Wilson Johnston, and the bicycle ridden on a round-the-world trip in the 1930s. Come find out why this site was voted Ontario's Top Small Museum."

And after the museum u can go get a scoop of ice cream from heavenly sweets in Ingersoll downtown or sushi at elevyn sushi . Or just chill out at the beautiful elm Inn resort
We were looking for something to do on a cold winter day and decided to go on a road trip. The Ingersoll Cheese Museum was the only place open, and it was worth the trip. Anne showed us around the museum and even opened the school rooms and factory building for us. She was delightful. It would definitely be a great place to go again in the spring when they have all the buildings open. They even have a picnic area.

Did a great tour of this local museum! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. And I liked that they also had local cheeses available for purchase. We found out so many interesting things about the cheese capital of Canada! Younger kids might not find it as fun since it's not very interactive. Great to see the history of the place and learn about the cheese making process, however.
Enjoyed this Ingersoll community museum so much! The guide was very knowledgeable, and the artifacts were endlessly fascinating. The cheese history delighted us no end, and the factory mockup was very educational, with some moving parts to really show what goes into cheese making. The replica giant cheese wheel was all I hoped for, as you can see in the fun photo I got to take. Highly recommended.
They host some amazing events here , great for kids and a beautiful park right next door. Highly recommend.
Full of fascinating history and operated by supremely knowledgeable staff. It was recently voted the top small museum/attraction in Ontario, and has many special events in addition to their usual attractions over the course of the year.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
