Books and toys and gifts galore. The ambiance of the store is amazing. It is clean and lighting is just right. The store is easily accessible for all and plenty of parking outside. There are no washrooms in the store but it is part of the Sherwood Park Mall. Indigo is of course primarily a bookstore but there is a large section of the store for children and their toys. Plus lots of non book items for sale. My wife and I enjoyed our visit. We have been to a bunch of Indigo’s over the years and this is a nice store.
Unprofessional and Disrespectful Management – AVOID THIS PLACEnnI had an absolutely brutal experience at this location on January 12th at 3 PM while inquiring about ordering a book for our corporate account—a process we’ve done many times before without issue. We simply asked to order books into the store and apply our corporate discount upon pickup.nnThe cashier seemed unsure of how to process the order and called for the manager. When the manager arrived, she audibly sighed and said in a snarky, dismissive tone, “Ugh, are you the ones I was called for?” It was clear from the start she had no intention of being helpful.nnHer attitude only worsened. Instead of assisting us, she made condescending and unprofessional remarks like, “So do you not know how to use the internet?” and, “When’s the last time you were even here and ordered a book?” Her arrogance and disrespect were astounding.nnRealizing she had no intention of doing her job—or even engaging in polite human interaction—we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. Thankfully, we were immediately helped at another store and successfully placed our order.nnThis level of unprofessionalism, especially from someone in a leadership position, is completely unacceptable. The manager’s behavior left me questioning how this location stays in business.nnIf this is how they treat loyal customers, I can only imagine how they treat others. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. This establishment does not deserve your time, money, or patience.
This is probably one of my favorite locations. It's large with a huge selection of books, games, stationary, household items, kids stuff and more. The staff have always been fantastic to interact with as well.
It's not Indigo's fault entirely. People just don't seem to buy books anymore. Now, more than 1/2 of the store is expensive kitsch. And the other 1/2 is ??? . In the old days of Chapters, there were shelves and shelves of great books to buy and a nice café in which to read them. That was when Starbucks HAD good coffee, so we're going back 15 years. The experience was singularly depressing. A lover of books and good bookstores, there was little here to bring me back.
Great selection of books, gifts and other items. Easy location to access from inside and outside if you don't want to walk through the mall, lots of parking.
