I have to admit, I was a little worried choosing and booking a Toronto DJ while living in Australia. I found the Indie DJ website, saw the video and emailed Justin. His responses were very timely and very helpful, and helped me in my decision to go with Indie DJ for our wedding. And I'm definitely happy with my decision! Justin is not your average wedding DJ...after sitting down with my partner and I to figure out what type of music we like, he proceeded to come up with the most eclectic and successful wedding playlist I've ever heard! He even worked in some traditional German music for my side of the family. My favourite thing about Justin was his ability to read the crowd and adjust. He had people of ALL ages up on the dance floor all night long! Thank you so much Justin for your professionalism, your friendliness, and your accommodating attitude. Not only did you remove some of the stress leading up to and on the day, you made the celebrations unforgettable! We had so much fun! Thanks again, and good luck in the future. I would highly recommend Indie Wedding DJ. He kept all our guests on the dance floor all night and everyone had a great time. Justin was great throughout the planning process as well. He was very prepared and organized and made planning easier for me. He was the only vendor that I was in constant contact with and didn't have to reach out to first after a couple of months of silence. The check-in emails gave me complete confidence in Justin. Justin played a variety of music that all ages enjoyed. We had a lot of guests from Mexico who also enjoyed the music. Justin played a variety of Spanish music for our out of town guests but kept the dance floor full at the same time. The only complaint is that I wish our wedding didn't have to end so early because it was so much fun!
Justin was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning right up to the end of the night. He was very responsive and organized, he made the process of planning all of our music very easy and fun! On the day of, he was very punctual, organized and had our dance floor going from the moment dinner ended. He accommodated our need to make a few adjustments to songs the night of without any hesitation. Our guests were thrilled with the music he played and he accommodated many of their requests. We already know of a newly engaged couple that said they only thing they have planned for sure is that they will us ‘Indie Wedding DJ’ on their big day! Thanks Justin for all of your services, you were awesome and I can’t wait to recommend you to others!
We only have resounding praise for Justin and can’t recommend him enough! He was great to work with from start to finish. In the run-up to the wedding, he was prompt with his emails. He provided us with lots of information to help us choose the music we wanted to have played. His contract was comprehensive and professional, and he met with us well in advance of the wedding day to go over all the details. On the day of the wedding, he made everything run super-smoothly. He arrived early and was set up long before our guests arrived. He played a great selection of music during cocktails and dinner; we gave him free rein to play whatever he wanted, and he made excellent choices. For the dancing, he accommodated all of our requests, even though some of them were obscure or downright embarrassing. Past precedent at family events suggested that people would start heading home early, but Justin kept everyone on the dance floor into the early hours of the morning! Our only regret is that we’re not getting married again any time soon or hopefully ever again, so we won’t have another excuse to hire Justin. But since we’re not having another wedding, that means he might be free to DJ yours—so go and hire him already!
Justin is so friendly, professional, and talented. What more could you ask for? He did an incredible job at our wedding. Our dance floor was full all night long. He will tailor his playlist exactly for your style while being cognizant of what gets ALL your guests up and dancing. Don't think about hiring anyone else, especially if you love music and want your wedding music to reflect you and your partner!!
Justin was truly the highlight of our wedding ceremony and reception. Both my husband and I are huge music fans and had very high expectations for someone who not only understood our specific music tastes but could also please our guests. Justin not only played all our requests but kept everyone on the dance floor with awesome setlists! He also made a wonderful emcee. I am very thankful we found him, he was a pleasure to work with!
Simply amazing. I cannot recommend Indie Wedding DJ enough. We found Justin through Offbeat Bride in hopes of having a DJ that would avoid the traditional wedding set list. We got much more than that. We have a very eclectic taste in music and wanted something a little different. We wanted to make sure that we got to insert some of our personality into the music but we weren't sure where to start. Justin took great care in guiding us and finding out exactly what we wanted to hear. He then tailored the rest of his set list to match beautifully so that we didn't have to micromanage in the least despite having some specifics. Dealing with Indie Wedding DJ is also effortless. Justin was always available if we had any questions or if we needed a gentle reminder but there was no pressure in the least. During a hectic time of planning, this was wonderful. Despite the planning being a great experience, the event was where Justin truly got to shine. He was able to accommodate some more obscure ceremony music without a fuss. He was adaptable to our guests, refused requests for music we didn't want to hear and kept our dance floor alive all night. He was also a hit with our guests. I had over a dozen people comment on how nice he was, what a great job he had done and how much they liked the music. I can't thank Justin enough. He's one of those unique people out there who love what they do and take great passion in it. Hire him in a heartbeat.
Justin is that rare breed of wedding vendor that seamlessly fuses professionalism, love for what he does, and genuine care for his clients. From the day we hired him he worked with us to create a beautiful ceremony playlist as well as the best dance floor I have ever seen! It should be noted that I photograph weddings and after the first couple of songs you rarely ever see a ton of people on the dance floor. Justin had the dance floor so packed all night that people were dancing on the grass beside. Guests young and old came up to us unsolicited during and after the night to let us know how great the DJ was. Leading up to the event he was so organized, took detailed notes at our meetings, and sent us a cohesive, organized, schedule of everything we needed music wise for our day. Finally, Justin is insanely talented but incredibly humble and easy to work with. Which I personally think is a great combination. HIRE HIM. NOW!
Justin lived up to every hope and expectation I had for him. As a bride planning my own wedding, I was nervous about every vendor I hired. He was very professional and organized, providing a day of timeline and communicating with my m.c. and day of coordinator the week leading up to the wedding. Justin was enthusiastic about our song selections and making sure the evening ran exactly as we wished. Our guests LOVED the music. Even people who "don't dance at weddings" were up there next to us loving what was happening. Great vibe, great dj and great business person. I would most definitely recommend Justin to a couple that wants a full on amazing atmosphere and creative music selection!
My fiancé and I were very particular about what the music should be like at our wedding. We wanted something that reflected our music tastes, but didn’t have to veer into choreographed YMCA-ing to be danceable. Also important, we were on the hunt for the least cheesy wedding DJ we could find. In our opinion, there is nothing worse than those corny MCs! They can just completely ruin the ambiance of the event. Justin’s website was the first thing that popped up in our search for “non-traditional” wedding DJs and, after seeing one good review after another, we contacted him to see if he would be available on our wedding date. We are SO THRILLED that we were able to work with him. His approach was exactly what we were looking for. We met before the wedding to get an idea for what our musical tastes were like and he developed a plan for the wedding music based on this. My fiancé and I were also thinking about slowing down one of our favourite songs to use for our first dance, and Justin stepped in to help us do that. It was so helpful to have someone so responsive during the planning process! We also asked Justin to MC at our reception, and we couldn’t have been happier that decision. He was not overbearing or distracting, but he kept things on track and professional throughout. Our guests LOVED the music. We got compliments on it for months following the wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for more. It was exactly what we were looking for. Justin pulled together a collection of songs that completely encapsulated our musical tastes, and he was so receptive during the reception, watching to dance floor to ensure that everyone was enjoying themselves and making changes when things seemed to be dying down. We were so impressed with his services, and have since recommended Indie Wedding DJ to several newly-engaged friends. Just book him while you still can! Thanks Justin!
