Independent Indian grocery store in the North City area of Shoreline. Lots of specialty grocery items that can be hard to find in other places. They have a lunch counter, but the times I've been in the only option has been samosas. No complaints there, but not sure if they offer other hot food options
Stale vegetables with fungus and over-priced compared to rest of Indian stores around the area
I go here once a month to really stock up. It is so organized I know exactly where to go and what I want. The food is DELICIOUS and the owners / employees are WONDERFUL and suggestions when I want to try something new. I will NEVER stop coming here.
The prices are very high which is their right. I did not appreciate that almost all the items had no prices displayed. You only get to know the price of items when they are scanned at the counter which I find to be very sneaky. Won’t be returning as I feel cheated.
First place in Seattle I have found Malta! I had to refrain from buying a whole case, the price was low enough I might come back and do just that.
Pros: - Good selection of products. - Store was clean. Cons: - There were only two staff in the whole store. One was just sitting next to the door with his cap on. And this guy was a creep. - The other person, the cashier was visibly frustrated when I asked for price on TWO items. I had to ask for it since majority of items were missing a price tag. - EXPENSIVE. Save yourself $$, and go to any Indian grocery store in the Bothell area. Aashirwad multi-grain aata 10 kgs for $27.99, it is retailing online for $22.99. Also, the Bothell area India grocery stores offer 10% discount if you shop > $100 or 5% if > $50. - Overall, it was far from a pleasant experience and I definitely feel cheated.
They have all my favorite Indian snacks, spices, and frozen foods. I love the sweets, especially the kalakand!
Store has a nice variety and all of the expected Indian cooking staples. The people who work there are nice and helpful. I will definitely go back!
Their samosas USED to taste great. Recently they changed the samosas to really oily ones with a very bland taste. bEWARe the samosas st the checkout are not the same. When I called the owner to tell him that the samosas were different and very oily ended up throwing it away, he asked me to get the correct kind of samosas in couple weeks. I have since then visited the store 4 times but no samosas and he keeps asking me to come back. Tonight I went to the store to check again and the older gentlemen said come back when the owner was here. No customer service skills and he could hardly understand my English. He just ignored me. Pathetic staff. This is how they treat their customers. We have been their costumers for many years. I miss the previous Punjabi owners . They were much mor customer service oriented.
Glad to find a good source of Indian groceries. Lots of prepared food in the fridge and freezer, if you don't want to cook it yourself.
