We decide to try this restaurant because we had so much fun reading the restaurant answer to the mean reviews, we thought, let’s go and see who is right , well our experience was pleasant, the service was a little slow due to the shortage of staff, but the waiter inform us from the beginning that our food may take a while and ask us if that was ok with us, so we stayed and I think it was worth it, the food was really good very tasteful and was presented beautifully. We are definitely coming back even if we have to wait again for our food to be ready. We read on the reviews that the tip was included on the bill but this is not true so don’t forget to tip your waiter!
My favorite restaurant!! I have been coming here for 18 years. If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. It's much more of a relaxed experience than just a quick bite. Order an appetizer for while you wait. The aloo tikki and samosas are awesome. I always have to have the murgh Makhani, but I've had the masala, korma, vindaloo, kadhai, and the mixed grill. Between the salad, little chips, and our appetizers we are practically full by the time the food arrives. Luckily my leftovers make a mighty fine breakfast the next day-if I haven't already had them for a midnight snack!
Food was undoubtedly delicious. We took shrimp malai kari and lamb curry the first one on the menu. They gave complimentary Chick pea salad and papad. The thing I personally didn't like is the compulsory 18% tip on the full order. It should be the customer's choice.Food: 5/5
We knew from the minute we walked in the door we would be served great Indian food. Entrees come with salad, papadam and rice. Excellent service. Medium a little spicier than most Indian restaurants but great flavors.
NEVER WILL I RETURN TO THIS PLACE AFTER THE OWNER INSULTED MY FAMILY AND I. STORY TIME: Original review rating was 3 stars from few years ago. I came in with family four months ago and took few pics of food and updated pics on google, food was average so did not update 3 star review. The owner was not happy and replied to my old review/new pics... which you can see below. Today, my family decided to give them another chance, and took two out of town guests with us. Total party of eight. We ordered food for my five year old first as he was very hungry. The owner comes out confronts us about our review and was very rude. He proceeds to tell us, he was not happy about the 3 star review and doesn't know how to help us. I have never walked out of a restaurant, especially with my five year old crying because he was hungry. And I rarely give any restaurant 1 star reviews as all restaurants may have bad days, but this was a CHOICE by the OWNER. We rushed 5 mins away to STAR OF INDIA who were closing at 8pm. We reached 8:05, the waiter was very polite and told us they were closed, but asked the kitchen if they could accommodate us. Two minutes later we were seated and placing our orders. This is service! PREVIOUS OLD REVIEW BELOW: Food was overspiced, with little to no taste. I've had better experiences in the past at this restaurants. Mango lassi was like water... maybe the cook/owner was having a bad day.
We went here for our anniversary, ambiance was good. Small dining room so only one server was working. Authentic Indian cuisine and spices that takes us back to home. Also had a wonderful server Sima who was always checking to make sure we were satisfied. Will definitely be seeing us again! I think customers need to read the menu better and also the website! They need to understand that dinning is a cultural experience especially when it’s a different culture! And to have a open mind when trying new food! Not all restaurants will follow the American culture even tho they are in America, they mostly do this for their natives which will appreciate the food. If you are gonna try a different cuisine be open minded, ask questions and be respectful of other cultures. No everyone wants steak, mashed potatoes and French fries!
I have visited many Indian restaurants even visited India many times and the food at this place is one of the best I’ve tasted. The food is always FRESH and delicious…..the reason why I want to give it a 5 star is because of the wonderful staff…server JAY knocks it out the park each time I visit he is always warm smiling and welcoming the food can be great but the staff is why restaurants are 5 stars. Me and my boyfriend recently moved from Tampa Florida To Ohio and we have made this our weekly stop because the friendly staff and good. It shows management treats the staff well they are friendly 5/5 will return
I've eaten there 6 times and the foods delicious. I'm ordering tonight but it's been 2 years since I've eaten there since I moved to Florida. I'm looking forward to it. You want great food deal w the artist. You want quick food w no flavor go to a fast food joint
The food was excellent, as always. The naan is extremely delicious. My only complaint is the wait time! We waited about 2 hours for our food and there were only three at our table. I understand that it happens to be a small business, but I just wish that there were more employees and/or cooks. Felt bad for our waiter, as he kept apologizing. I would come back again if the wait was less.
Wonderful reply by the owners. Like I said requests can't be accommodated and that is absolutely understandable but it's the way you talk or communicate- hence rude! Poor service and rude staff. We ordered our food online and wanted to pick up but we were returning from a road trip so we requested and even offered to pay to sit in and dine instead but they were extremely rude and shut us out. We literally sat in the car and ate as we still had a long way to Chicago. Absolutely rude and condescending staff. We get it that sometimes it’s not possible to accept client requests but they were really rude. Plus the food was average.
