Service was just okay - I was interested in maybe getting some Hakka food but the customer service person strongly emphasized it would take much longer than the pre-prepared food. The chicken samosa was excellent and well worth the price, but the lentil filled pocket barely had any lentils and was very oily. I'd only come back for the samosas.
What a pleasant discovery! We love cooking Indian Cuisine at home, but often have difficulty finding certain spices and ingredients. My husband was born and raised in the UK, so some of his favourite curries are hard to come by too. We were both so pleased to see many familiar things in one place! I was blown away at some of the low pricing cardamom pods, some of the branded chutneys and spice mixes but some items were unmarked with pricing which was a bit tricky. I was also excited to see a fridge full of freshly prepared Indian sweets, but was deterred as it was self-serve. I will look forward to trying them another time. An excellent variety of products in the store, between fresh and frozen produce, non-perishable items, prepared foods both fresh and frozen and endless teas, mixes and spices. They also sell some hot and ready samosas at the front counter which is such a sneaky but extremely successful tactic!! We left with a pretty good load of goodies and can't wait to dig into them this week. Also, if you go for nothing else, you need to try their Samosas. We couldn't help but buy one at the counter and it didn't even make it home. Really light and crispy pastry and the most delicious mix of spices inside. We will be back!!
From North to South, the store covers whole Indian groceries, the staff are very nice and helpful. Very reasonable prices. They also have takeaway snacks and meals which taste just like one you get in India. They accept cash and cards.nDefinitely your go to Indian store in Halifax.
Food tasted decent, but the bread seemed like frozen packaged bread reheated on the grill. For restaurant pricing, I expected fresher bread instead of something that feels store-bought.
Small private owned store. It doesn't have the organizatios and service as the big stores, so you just go there get what you want and leave. They sell food hot meals, but they're not cheap as before. I have no idea where or how they prepare the food; we just pick it up in the store after ordering. And whether you order spicy or mild, the food is hot.
