The restaurant was recommended by a local, she suggested 'In The Beantime Cafe'... So we went to In the Beantime Cafe for lunch. I had a Southwest taco bean bowl and my wife had their breakfast avacado toast with poached egg and hollandaise sauce. We cleaned our plate and bowl as they were delishish! Service was fast, even though they were busy when we got there which is a sign of a good place to eat. Definitely a return experience is warranted!
Really cute place. About a dozen seating tables including 2 out front. Eggs Benedict was really good with a good size of hash browns for a reasonable price. Staff was really friendly
Stopped here for breakfast Monday April 20 because the Visitor Centre strongly recommended it. Obviously a popular locals hangout, quaint, with lots of yummy muffins, cupcakes, etc. on display. Ordered the eggs benny on avocado toast which was served up quickly and looked amazing so I took the usual touristy pic.nThe plate was ruined seconds later because some malevolent joker had tampered with the pepper shaker and the entire contents flew out covering half the food. When I showed the counter employees what had happened I was a little surprised at the relative lack of concern, and not wanting to make a huge fuss, I just tossed out the half of the plate that was ruined and ate what was left.nI know it's partly my fault for not double-checking the shakers, but i was rather disappointed that no effort was made to replace the meal or to offer any kind of adjustment or complimentary offset. I instantly regretted the rather generous tip I had entered on my card when I ordered.
Worse breakfast ever.. over easy usually means soft eggs were hard when I mentioned it i got attitude. Hash browns were cold and undercooked back bacon was over cooked and hard. Cold toast. Waste of money for the compost
Pleasantly surprised as we found this location on our route from Victoria back to Campbell River. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast prepared with love. Soothing jazz music in background. Will definitely recommend and be back some time.
