We specialize in fresh homemade food, and fresh roasted coffee. Our hours are 7am -5pm Mon-Sat, and 8am-4pm Sunday. In the Beantime was a top 3 finalist for the Business Examiner Vancouver Island Awards in the food service category in 2014 and was the winner of the Spirit of Ladysmith best small business award in 2013.

Pleasantly surprised as we found this location on our route from Victoria back to Campbell River. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast prepared with love. Soothing jazz music in background. Will definitely recommend and be back some time.
My first smash burger! Absolutely delicious. The fresh vegetables, cheese, pickles and sauce all had their place in the tasty burger. The house salad and fresh dressing was a perfect complement. Thank you In the Beantime Cafe.
The vegan breakfast is soooooo DELICIOUS!nI devoured it so no picture .nThe other breakfast items were really good too.nLovely place, strongly recommend it nnPS: I came back and took a picture of my amazing Vegan Breakfast this time nnPS 2: Even if you drive by Ladysmith, this is close to the highway and it’s worth a stop .
Really good fresh food with a lovely garden inspired outdoor patio.nnThree cheese grilled cheese and clubhouse were solid - would have again.
Our organization ordered breakfast, lunch and desert from this place and it was top notch. The sandwiches and wraps tastes incredible and were decent serving sizes. Also, the naniamo bars were really tasty, not too sweet as I normally do not like them but these were great! Will be back again to try more items. Thank you to the staff!
