The Imperial is a 6,000 square foot stylish, state-of-the-art private event and multimedia facility located in the city’s urban core. It is Vancouver's hidden gem. Carefully transformed from its abandoned Asian movie house state to its contemporary revitalized form, The Imperial offers clients an exciting and unparalleled event experience. With a recently updated world class audio and lighting package as well as a flexible floor plan, we can accommodate anything from concerts, corporate presentations, sit-down dinner service, fundraising events, private events or anything you can think of. Great small venue for live music. Sound has always been great after a half dozen shows here. The size of the theater is smaller than the Commodore, but larger than the Biltmore. The space for merch setups at the entrance way and coat check Is large and accommodating for both foot traffic for patrons and merch tables for the bands. The space is beautifully lit and it's clean inside, with the exception that some floor lighting could be useful for the lips of the ramps that join the theater space and the bar watch your damn step! Don't be turned away by the homeless tents and droves of homeless people outside the venue, this is a sad side of Vancouver and these people are harmless. This is the epicenter of where they congregate and live and to date nobody has a solution for it.
Lovely intimate venue with a high ceiling and a bar close to the hall. There are two tiers with relatively good views. The neighbourhood is a bit hectic so best to use the coat check rather than leave things in your car. Lots of dining options near venue.
Great place to catch a show! Has a cool vibe and gives a real intimate feel for the show. Great sound and cool bands that play there. Only downside is the location, right in East Van, potentially a little sketchy, but overall would highly recommend
Great atmosphere and nice statues on both side of the theatre! I had the opportunity to visit the theatre during the Canadian Export Challenge event.
Rad big venue for shows, stage a little small. Shout out to the nice bathrooms with working stalls and locking doors. Smells a bit dank and doesn't have cider but I don't mind drinking highballs all night! Hope to see more shows there!
Well made place for beautiful parties and events. Goth that night, for an event that was advertised as an 80s experience... Still, a great sound system, cool lazer lights, cages to dance in. Fun, safe-feeling place, albeit in a sketchy part of town where people camp on the sidewalk in the perpetual queue of the rough life, not to get tickets for a show.
It was my first time in this venue and I was taking photos for SYML an artist/singer. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They even gave me tips to move around for my photos. Would definitely come back.
Great room for sound. Very good views of the stage, intimate. Nice accessible bars. Bar prices a little high, washrooms a little scarce, but good live music venues are hard to find in yvr.
This is the best small venue around. So intimate, amazing sound, and such friendly staff.
The area is scary as hell; not going to lie. The inside of the venue is beautiful. One of my favorite looking venues. But you will have to skirt ppl doing drugs to get there. The bus stops about a 1/4 block away, and uber will drop you at the door.
