The foods were good at a reasonable price. The staff was friendly. The only drawback was the strong cooking smell inside the dining area. BTW, we enjoyed a nice family meal here last night.
I’m baffled by how slow and ridiculous the service is. It took 35-40 minutes before they took our order. Then the food took so long to come, just for them to forget to give out plates and utensils and we had to ask for it. We had to ask for everything not once but twice! Our water only came after we has asked for it 3 times and it came at the end of the meal. The food took so long just for it to come cold. And the price on the mocktail was 8 dollars for a small cup! Overall it was a very disappointing experience. I came hungry and went home unsatisfied and upset.
Love Ikusa for their specials! Akin to good value Japanese food in Vancouver although quality isn’t the exact same. I’d recommend trying the unagi skewer fresh it’s melt in your mouth yummy and the truffle prawn roll I would come here just for it!!. Nigiri is fresh enough and good value. Ramen is mid but a good filler, especially when it’s on special.
Think I've just found one of my new fav sushi places Not only did the decor and atmosphere capture the Japanese street vibe, but the oh my god the FOOD. Everything I took a bite of seemed to just melt in my mouth, it was that good.nnWe went with a large group and the service was fantastic, with not much waiting time and they were happy to split our complicated bills with no trouble. I tried their truffle prawn roll, seared salmon oshi, bluefin tuna, p-toro pork belly shiso yaki chicken thigh and prawn tempura — everything was hands down 10/10.nnThe sushi were easily the standouts, packed with flavor and high quality fish, and at a crazy good price compared to most places' special rolls. Other items like the chicken teriyaki, ginger shrimp, gyu angus and volcano rolls were also delicious.nnI'm already planning my next trip back!
Update January 2024nnIkusa keeps on getting better and exploring more of their menu is blowing-up my taste buds.nnAll wait staff and management set the standard in hospitality, professionalism and attentiveness.nnThe chef's really put out a quality, tasty product and if you get the chance to sit at their kitchen-side seating, they will also put on a show of professionalism and art in motion, preparing meals.nnOriginal review...nnThank you for letting me order a take - out soup with extra noodles at closing time.nnStaff were very accommodating.nnThe soup was delicious, the noodles cooked to perfection and the spicy broth is really awesome.nnIt's not my first time there and I'll continue to visit because of this.nnBlessings to you all who work there nnIt's approximately one month since my first review and because of the original service, I have returned repeatedly. Nothing has changed other than me now being addicted to all of the menu and the continued exceptional service. The Manager, wait staff and kitchen staff are all amazing. Thank you
