Spent a week here skiing in March 2024.nThe positives - incredible terrain and the guides and chef were top notch. We ate like royalty and the guides did an amazing job of choosing proper terrain and seeking out good lines for our group. We skied powder 7/7 days. Make sure you are in good shape when you arrive as they will work you!nAccommodations are OK given the remote location but I do think they could get themselves a Starlink which is not particularly expensive and would make it so that you are not completely off the grid. The outhouses are OK but there are also probably more civilized options for a remote privy these days.nAll in all a fantastic experience and the terrain is second to none. I would go back in a minute.
Amazing hiking, trials all over lead to breathtaking views and some cool experiences getting up close to a bunch of glaciers. Guide was amazing and took us to some great places and the group was a lot of fun. Not for anyone looking for simple walks through an alpine field, but so worth it for anyone ready or wanting to push themselves.
Icefall Lodge’s ski mountaineering course is the real deal! If you’re looking for an amazing adventure and challenge, definitely check this course out. Early starts, a manageable spring snow pack, big objectives, lots and lots of learning. The class is the perfect mix of hard skills and getting out in the field for some big days. The lodge is well equipped with comfortable beds, boot dryers, glove dryers, places to hang your skins, a sauna and a full kitchen. It’s super fun to fly in on the helicopter and be dumped in the middle of some of the most amazing, complex and beautiful terrain the world has to offer. Definitely would recommend getting in great shape and fine tuning your skills before signing up.
I’ve spent 2 weeks here over the last 2 seasons & loved both times. My group booked unguided & catered trip, the food was outstanding & the staff is simply the best. Situated at treeline, the day can begin with skiing or skinning. Terrain is good, everything from trees, alpine, to couloirs. The lodges are the clutchest of huts I’ve ever inhabited, with private rooms for 2, totaling in 18 spots for guests in 2 cabins. There is a pee toilet in each lodge & 2 poop houses. There is a sauna with 2 watering can primitive showers that work incredibly well - one could comfortably shower everyday.
Thank you for all that you do to make these experiences happen!!! “We like it here” is an understatement… Love the details in the new cabins and the amazing terrain each hut/cabin/lodge access has- the views are beyond beautiful. Easily top favorite place’s on earth!nnA huge thank you and shout out to Corin Lohmann- he is a fantastic guide. Two full Traverse trips with him, and I hope to have another in my time. Always a grand adventure!!!
