Generally good, courteous and efficient service for a government office. I would take exception with the fact that I made a 10:00am appointment online only to find that walk-ins are taken up to 10:00am! I had to wait an extra 20 minutes after my appointed time slot! Not really impressed with that or the logic of the situation. It would been time for a review of the timing of walk-in appointments! Air quality was also suspect at the back seating area. Not enough air exchange, I decided it was safer to wait out in the hallway! I did receive my drivers license in good time.
Everyone was very professional. However, it was a little difficult to find the office inside the building. So here’s a quick little tip. Enter the building go straight past the first elevators take a left and enter an older looking elevator take it to R2 and then go up the stairs and follow The signs around a few corners and you should find it down a hall on the right There was a lot of people working there so the line was very quick. But for any establishment I always say a good rule of thumb is to make an appointment or call in ahead of time. Safe travels everyone
You’ll need to go through a food court area and turn left at a corner to find this place. Lining up for about 5 minutes, the reception will ask for your booking name, and you’ll need to wait after receiving a number. The staff are generally kind and helpful. If you’re getting your new BCID, you’re going to take a photo on this day, so make sure you have your hair settled.
I had an appointment for 12:50pm I arrived early at 12:35pm my number wasn’t called until 13:10 then I was told to wait further because all the testing machines were in use. Call me. I want to help make the process of serving the hard working tax payers and visitors to this wonderful province better. I have seen the complaints and you have to. The associate helping me at the office was great.
Mandy from the ICBC Driver Licensing office on West Georgia was amazing. I went into their office to renew my driver's license about 10 minutes before closing. I didn't realize that I needed an appointment. She greeted me with a smile and told me that she would make an exception and help me out. She went above and beyond and provided excellent customer service. Thank you!!
The woman who opened the doors this morning was so friendly. Saying good morning and welcome to everyone. Had a fun demeanor and made the experience unlike any other time I've been! Thank you wonderful lady with the dark glasses and hair in a bun!
The receptionist was dismissive, unhelpful and rude. The people in front of me were treated the same way. The online appointment system has been down for at least a month. The phone waiting times are longer than 40 minutes gave up after. The online info pages are cryptic and difficult to navigate. Glad to see my high tax rate being put to good use.
I came to this office on December 15th to renew my license. The front desk was organized and friendly; But i shocked by rude and unprofessional way that an asian lady who was responsible for issuance of license behaved! As a Vancouver-base company which involves in international training I usually travel couple of months in a year while residing and practicing in BC. I myself declared that I keep another country’s license and want to know if there is anyway to keep my other licence active while renewing my BC License. Instead of explaining about any possible option if any she got my license and put a note on their system that I am not residing in BC without checking this with me about her wrongful judgment! When I asked about the reason behind getting my license and replacing it with a paper license she just said her assumption again by saying you are going to trip in near future so you are not residing in BC! I canceled my application in this spot because of her rude, unprofessional behaviour but she put me through lengthy paper works to reverse her instant judgment. I can’t believe that our tax goes for paying such a short-sighted unprofessional decisions! Contrary to this unprofessional behaviour I went to another ICBC Branch close to my office in Macdonald Street and a gentleman named Essen was so helpful by allocating proper time to guide me through this. I believe as a sign of transparency, staff at these government organizations needs to have their own name label/batch. This helps the management also to evaluate the team members.
+ good communication and behaviour + clean place + no problem with exchanging foreign DL - long queue, arrived 30 minutes before appointment time but I was called 25 minutes after my original booked time - pretty loudy and too many people
Great newcomer experience! Easily exchanged my Ontario license and since I had already applied for MSP they were able to issue me a temporary combined BC services card! Woo hoo doctor on Monday!
