I visited I love you coffee shop on Sun afternoon for the first time. It is located on the basement floor of the building with convenience store on the main floor. The atmosphere was cozy and hip, there were a couple couch seats. They also serve alcohols, if that’s something you are more interested in! I had a latte and it was delicious! I asked to stay but he gave me a paper cup. I ordered bagel, and I did not enjoy it at all. Mine had turkey, spinach, tomato, cheese and pesto. The cheese was not melted at all, they grilled the bagel using panini press, which made outside of bagel crispy but inside was still cold and bagel was squished. My bagel was $11, with coffee, my bill was nearly $20, I personally did not think it was priced right. I’d go back for coffee but I am not going to order food.
Such a unique and cute cafe! The vibes are immaculate with so much cool décor and art. My friend quotes that the cup of coffee from here was one of the best she's ever had! We had alot of fun posing with Shaq too!
Such a cute little cafe. The atmosphere is really cozy, and the drinks were pretty decent as well.
With so much hesitancy to try this place at first with its uncommon name, to knowing it's downstairs beside a convenient store, I regret not exploring it sooner. A wonderful coffee shop which also provide the most amazing bagel sandwich varieties $3-9 to alcohol selection local breweries for purchase to some bakery buns/sweets. The owner here is a friendly and awesome guy who also managed to make the jazz record playing in the background and interior set up in such a unique yet welcoming vibe livened by art and lots of plants. Coffee here is good with nicely roasted beans and brewed well drinks from $2.50-5.05. Definitely worth a couple of frequent visits. Highly recommend trying their bagels.
This coffee shop is a ways from our place and we initially discovered it by accident. It was what Bob Ross would call a "happy accident", as we've never been so pleasantly surprised by a coffee shop. The coffee is great and the atmosphere is very inviting. If you want to read a book and/or enjoy a great vinyl selection playing in the background as you have a coffee, I can't recommend this place enough.
I think it's the next hidden treasure coffee spot. Talked with the manager/owner I believe. Great guy who knew his Seinfeld, music and plays records. The type of place where you feel where you can relax and lounge. Has that hipster feel where you can eat, drink booze, and lattes. They sell Japanese baked goods and booze. My new favorite place to go too as well very convenient location. Highly recommend this place with 5 stars.
I wanted to give 5 stars initially but the intense smell of cigarette smoke floating down the stairs through the open door was unbearable. Had to leave, no way would I eat a meal in here. Such a shame because everything else is awesome, great decor, nice coffee and friendly baristas. Sad but I probably won’t come back because of how bad the smoke is.
Nominated for the best first date location. Great coffee and music, comfortable atmosphere, bizarrely fascinating social media presence, and definitely a key part of the Calgary art scene. They're super friendly and I can't recommend them enough!
Unfriendly Service weird Vibes No warm Welcome Either. Just walked right out. Pure Woke Establishment Eww. Location is in a Weird spot too. Highly NOT Recommended. There are better places to checkout in YYC.
We came across the shop while on our evening post-dinner stroll. But wouldn't recommend this - not at least for the Americano we had. Below average coffee - reminded me of the kind of coffee you get at the rest areas in the US. The shop is in the basement and you need to climb down a good number of stairs may not be recommended for seniors. Having said that, it has a good seating area. There weren't any customers since it was quite late. The gentleman at the counter was nice and friendly. They also keep alcohol. For late-night coffee, there are extremely few options available in this part of the downtown, which is a shame. But this is the place to try if you want to - just not the black coffee.
