A giant pike/muskie in pretty surroundings right beside the lake. The sculpture is beautiful and well cared for in great condition. You can go right up and grab the tail. Parking is on the north east side so accessed easiest going westbound on the Trans-Canada. There are toilets there too. There is a walkway under the highway towards the river. TIP: Don't forget to visit Max the Moose in Dryden also on the Trans-Canada.
Nice little stop on your way to Kenora. The statue is well maintained and unique. But the main attraction is the surrounding park, lake and walking trail. When the weather is nice it’s really beautiful walking by the lake or just relaxing on one of the benches by the statue. There’s a geyser right in front of the statue.nnCar parking is available on the other side of the street and you can walk to the statue using the walkway under the bridge. There are washrooms available although not the cleanest. There’s also an old lumberjack boat next to the washrooms.
Northern Ontario is filled with roadside attractions think of Sudbury's Big Nickel. Of all the sites I have visited, not only is Husky among my favourite with its cool design, but the lovely spot it sits on also offers picnic tables and a beautiful view of Kenora Bay. A great spot to relax and take a break.
Historical site. Beautiful city park with landscaping and benches.nScenic view of Kenora Harbour. Timed harbour water fountain.nAntique James McMillan historical boat.nRestrooms. Parking.
This was a great stop on the way out of Kenora. If I had known it was such a lovely park I would have brought a picnic lunch. There is a nice play ground for kids too.
