Great experience at Huntingdon Suites. We had one if the loft rooms and it was great. A couple things to note:nnThe Badnn1 The loft is pretty high up. Lots of stairs down to the bathroom in the middle of the night.n2 No fan in the loft area makes it difficult for the air to circulate up there. That means the AC doesn't get it very cool up there so on warmer days it's pretty warm upstairs.nnThe greatnn1 The service was amazing. Such a friendly staff.nn2 We arrived a few hours early before check in and they were more than happy to check our luggage until we were able to check in. This allowed us to walk about Victoria without the burden of our luggage.nnWe had to check out a few hours before our ferry so they did the same on our last day.nn3 The location was amazing. 5 minutes from the Black Ball ferry terminal and very close to parliament.nnI highly recommend a stay at the Huntingdon Suites. You won't regret it.
I stayed at Huntington hotel in Victoria for 3 days and 2 nights with my wife. The location is definitely a strong point—it’s right by the harbor, which made it easy to explore the area on foot and enjoy the views.nnHowever, the overall experience could have been better. The room had a bit of a strange smell when we arrived, and it felt cold even with the heater on full. Cold air was coming through the air conditioning unit, which made the room drafty and gave me a headache in the morning. We had to sleep bundled up, and occasional noise from outside made it hard to rest fully.nnWe were surprised there were no water bottles provided in the room, and we weren’t informed that water was available in the lobby—we only found out after buying our own. Also, when I asked the front desk for slippers, I was told someone would follow up, but no one got back to me.nnAnother odd moment was when housekeeping entered our room without us requesting service, which was unexpected and a little uncomfortable.nnOn the plus side, the bed itself was comfortable and we appreciated the convenient location. But for the price we paid, we expected a more polished and guest-focused experience. I’ve stayed at other hotels in similar price ranges that felt more attentive and better maintained.
We stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations. The hotel offered to upgrade our room to a “recently renovated” room. However, we didn’t notice any signs of renovation – it looked and felt dated. The room had a strange smell.nnThe towels were very rough and unpleasant to use. The shampoo and body wash were low quality, and the dispensers barely worked. They added a rubber mat in the tub, but it looked old, used, and unsanitary. The bathroom door didn’t close properly, and the shower was faulty as well. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, which was disappointing.nnOn the bright side, the staff were kind and helpful, and the breakfast was decent. Still, due to the condition of the room and the overall experience, we wouldn’t stay here again.
This was a Mother/Daughter trip and we had an amazing time as always. The Huntington Hotel made our trip even more enjoyable if that is even possible. Great location, great and spacious room very enjoyable breakfast and the staff was extremely friendly. Especially Patricia at the front desk was very welcoming. We definitely will return to this great Hotel.
We stayed at the Huntington Hotel in Victoria on May 29, 2025, and had one of the most upsetting experiences of our lives. Our two South Indian Canadian families, including three children, were treated with clear racial bias by the breakfast staff.nnWhile white guests were allowed to sit wherever they liked, we were the only group directed to a dark, isolated corner filled with flies—completely inappropriate for children and clearly done to separate us. Staff members stood nearby laughing and speaking in their own language, watching us in a way that made us feel mocked and targeted.nnLater, one of our colleagues asked for a tea bag. He was given one, but when he tried to get another from the same spot, a staff member accused him—loudly and disrespectfully—as if he were stealing. No other guests were treated this way.nnWe reported this to the front desk manager, who promised to escalate the matter. But shockingly, a staff member from the front desk went straight to the breakfast area and informed the others about our complaint in their language, further confirming the staff were not acting professionally or fairly.nnThis entire experience ruined our day and left us feeling humiliated in what should have been a relaxing family trip. Racism has no place in Canada—or in any hotel. We expected far better and are still waiting for an apology or follow-up from management
