"Carl "Scott" Humphrey, MD, is a fellowship-trained shoulder specialist and board certified orthopedic surgeon. In addition to providing non-operative treatments, he routinely performs minimally-invasive arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery, shoulder instability repairs, and shoulder replacement surgery. Dr. Humphrey is Idaho's first doctor to be accepted to the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons ASES. He is credited as the inventor on 11 U.S. medical-device patents. Dr. Humphrey has authored multiple scientific articles and textbook chapters pertaining to shoulder surgery. He founded the Humphrey Shoulder Clinic formerly Boise Shoulder Clinic in 2006."

Great people to work with. Dr. Humphrey and Christi Franks really did a great job of explaining everything to me and were also very kind and caring. I felt confident and at ease under their medical expertise. The office staff is also nice to work with. Im very optimistic about the future with my repaired shoulder. Recommend the Humphrey Shoulder Clinic to anyone.
After an injury to my shoulder in December of 2021, I was in pain and had limited motion and ability. I tried physical therapy and meds before contacting Humphreys. They scheduled a reverse shoulder replacement. Almost immediately after surgery, the pain from the injury was relieved. It has been 9 months since the surgery, and I have recovered almost full range of motion and strength. Everyone at the clinic was professional but friendly and accommodating. Christi Franks was especially understanding and considerate. I would definitely recommend the Humphrey Shoulder Clinic to anyone who has a need of their services.
I selected Dr. Humphrey, at Humphrey Shoulder Clinic, after researching several shoulder surgeons in the area. I'm six months post op. and my shoulder is at about 95%, of what it was, before I injured it. My follow up care appointments were with Christi Franks. I couldn't be more pleased with the results of my surgery and with my after care. I highly recommend Humphrey Shoulder Clinic.
If your in some kind of a car accident, have a work injury etc. or any situation that requires a lawyers help for compensation, he will not take you as a patient! Very disappointing to hear that. I just wanted to save someone from wasting their time calling the clinic or sending a message online.
Christi and Dr Humphrey are amazing! They took my no sleep shoulder to 100%. I recommend this clinic to everyone.
I had Reverse Shoulder Replacement surgery on July 13, 2021. After the surgery I was surprised at how little pain or discomfort there was. The most uncomfortable thing was having to wear the sling and bolster which hung around my neck. I learned to tighten the strap around my stomach so my neck was relieved of the dead weight. Another challenge I had was to not use that arm for lifting because it felt great! After 7 months I'm doing fabulous. Dr Humphrey was very personable and took time to explain everything. The staff was excellent and helpful. I highly recommend Humphrey Shoulder Clinic. You won't be disappointed. Ken
Dr. Humphrey and his team are amazing! I recently retired as a healthcare executive after 25 years and know the medical industry inside and out! Dr. Humphrey's team has been nothing but amazing! After 20 years of constant pain and surgeries I had lost hope in living a pain free life. Other surgeons told me in the past my shoulder was damaged beyond repair but Dr. Humphreys confidently said he could help! I am 3 months post surgery and I can't say thank you enough for giving me my life back pain free! From Dr. Humphrey, Kristi, Nurse Practitioner to office staff you truly gave "World Class" service.
I had three tears in my shoulder and thanks to the Humphrey Shoulder Clinic, I now feel great. I recommend them to anyone and also recommend doing everything they say and not rushing the recovery.
I was very late in getting this review out due to excessive travel. Dr. Humphrey is the best and so is his staff. I was extremely worried about having the procedure done, but the care and consideration his staff and he gave was exceptional. There are many doctors out there that people give praise about, but I am very glad I chose Dr. Humphrey. I hope that I never have to repeat the situation as I am the worst patient in the world and had to follow instructions to the letter. However, since I did what he told me, I had a very speedy recovery and full use after only six months. My strength is rapidly getting better and I am happy to say that by listening to what he told me and ACTUALLY doing it, I am confident I will not destroy the work he did. I hope not to have my other shoulder need it, but if I do, Dr. Humphrey will be my first choice.
Had serious issues with my right shoulder, including Osteoarthritis at the age of just 33. Dr Humphrey and his great staff helped me get a new shoulder. After months of talking and looking MRI's and xrays, it was decided to fully replace the shoulder, and i am SO happy i had it done. I would recommend Dr Humphrey and his amazing staff to anyone with shoulder issues. I plan on going back to him for my left shoulder .
