Tshirts of the lake. Bread, milk, eggs for staples and a nice little meat counter. I always love to get their local made sandwiches and add my own extra. Good selection of soft drinks and hard liquor. A party store with that little more. And the ,Hometown friendly staff.
Great to stock up on the essentials - Triple Peanut Butter Ice Cream and Mr. & Mrs. Ts Bloody Mary mix not to be consumed simultaneously.
Great selection of items. Meat is fantastic! Great selection of wines and whatever liquor you need at reasonable prices. Love the staff. I'll miss this hometown store when I go back south for the fall and winter.
I’ve come to the General Store throughout the years and have had the same experience each time— consistently rude staff, never greeted, let alone with a smile, always feel like I’m inconveniencing them if I have a question. Maybe it’s because I’m not a regular, maybe it’s because I’m young, but regardless I felt the need to leave this review, because the customer service is poor. Store is dirty, floors are sloping and merchandise is often in disarray. They do have most necessities and a good selection, but maybe the necessity, and them being the only place around is what drags down the customer service.
Been going there since I was a little kid and it still feels the same. The people are always friendly. The deli meat and cheese is always fresh. The beer and softdrinks are always cold and they still sell candy cigarettes just like when I was a kid.
We always go here when we're in town. Great employees, very helpful. Great variety of items.
Haven’t been in the store since I was 18. Worked there with Dave Diamond, mostly, for a summer. Grew up in HL and parents owned Carl’s Restaurant from 1964-1974. Was in HL a year and a half ago as a day trip and took my g’kids with me. They had a great time seeing where G’ma grew up. Seems like people love the store. As a kid, I bought a lot of Bazooka Bubble Gum and other candy that I had cashed-in from beer bottles I collected from the local ditches. Empty bottles from ditches were “gold” for the children in HL in the 60’s. GOOD TIMES in Hubbard Lake. MEMORIES
Our go to spot when we’re in town my wife forgot her phone on the counter they held it for us till the next day extremely helpful and friendly
This is not a grocery store. They have some staples but you will need to go elsewhere for big groceries.
I work here and I absolutely love my job! Great little all in one place with a bit of everything on your shopping list. Plus the owners/my bosses Craig and Tammy Gerow are the best in the world, couldn't ask for better.
